ANNE WITH AN E — You are the fond object of my affection and my desire. You, and you alone, are the keeper of the key to my heart... It's to you, Anne, my Anne with an E. It always has been, and always will be you.
I’m currently watching Anne with an E and I’m obsessed to say the least. I can’t believe Netflix decided to cancel such a genuinely GOOD show. This might be a new addition to my comfort series. I’m already on season 2 and I can’t wait to see how the rest of the story plays out. I love seeing Anne’s character growth and to people saying she’s a brat and annoying well guess what: She’s a strong female protagonist. She’s intelligent, independent and strong, especially considering all the hardship she’s endured. So if you can’t handle Anne being herself (which by the way is the whole point of the show) then just stop watching, because this backlash only happens when we have a strong female protagonist.
I want a scene b/w Anne and Gilbert where both of them are at the beach or somewhere and Anne says: “wow, so beautiful!” And then Gilbert goes: “yeah, it is.” while staring at her with his heart eyes.
Anne with an "E" is a show which portrays various issues such as discrimination, harassment, censorship, grief and whatnot. It even represents menstruation and makes viewers understand it is natural.
Even though it is set in the 19th century, many aspects of the show make it relatable to the 21st century too. Different types of people appear, some of which may remind us of someone we all know of. Anne with an "E" teaches us that our mistakes do not define us, what we do to correct them does.
One integral part of Anne with an "E" is that it shows us a healthy, teenage romance where both individuals are equals and respect eachother. Sadly, this kind of relationship is very rarely seen on TV these days.
This is the type of show we want our younger generation to watch and grow up. It has a huge impact on tweens and teens as they can learn what is right and what isn't from this show. Unfortunately, this show has been cancelled too soon. At the very least, we need a conclusive ending to this beautiful story. Renew Anne with an "E" and create an impact on young minds. @netflix @cbc
Don't give up, fam. We have an entire book series to base the story on. If it is renewed in 10 years, we can see their adult lives when we are adults. We'll fight for this for years to come!
