First they make it illegal to be homeless and disappear mentally ill homeless off the streets into forced institutions, then they disseminate ludicrous and extremely harmful misinfo, causing vulnerable ppl to go off/be forced by guardians off their meds, artificially creating more psychotic -spec homeless to institutionalise. It's very worrying. And just also learnt about RFK Jr proposing "wellness" farms a year ago. If anything, the ones we SHOULD be getting institutionalise/lock up are the dangerous agents of misinfo like RFK Jr, Trump, etc. They are sick individuals, which is insulting to sick people. But they are a different kind of sick; sick in the head morally. Corrupt evil inhuman creatures. I haven't the foggiest how things work in America but I just hope they don't start denying people insurance/social security disability cover for medications - if that's even a thing to begin with.

Even IF (and massive IF) keto was the new cure, it's inaccessible and I know she's been trying to address that BUT it's not the most top problem with keto: the 1. problem being that the evidence is just not there: insufficient studies and only backed up by anecdotes and small limited studies suffering a number of issues such as small sample size, short observation timeframe, and no control groups. It's just not enough evidence alone to cause relapse and everything that comes with that: retraumatisation and basically catastrophic disruption in the lives of many schizospec and our families!!
***And I don't wanna hear any more "oh but it worked for my/my cousin's friend's dad's hamster's epilepsy, anxiety, depression (etc)" anecdotes (which could very well just be misinfo bots run by the medical keto industry). It's really giving sane privilege of having not been through the traumatising nightmare that is psychosis. I personally do not care to FAFO with psychosis. i was thinking yesterday how much upkeep we have to do just to exist and stay (relatively) healthy etc (wash clothes, fold said washing, wash bedding, brush teeth, wash hair, cut finger/toenails, other grooming tasks, wash bedding, wash hairbrushes!!, wash makeup brushes/tools, wash various electric shavers (diff parts of body), clean earbuds, clean dishes, various other cleaning chores, make meals, etc etc etc
Not to exhaust/overwhelm you all but more being like, damn no wonder we are not ok
i can't believe we're supposed to just... keep up with all that the rest of our lives, on top of scrambling to somehow pay the bills and stay housed? Like, where does anyone even find the time/energy to be on top of it all all the time
There is always at least five things or more that i'm not managing to stay on top of, and I seem to be always having to apologise for something I've not done. Just livin in constant burnout. So like yeah you have permission to be exhausted/not ok and eff anyone who wrongly asserts that you're "lazy" or whatever else.
Aghh nobody talks about how YouTube has gotten rly inaccessible for disabled and hard of hearing/deaf etc and all folks whom use subtitles.
With the advent of video essays/commentary, every man and his dog has been cramming infographics (or whatever you call them- text, screenshots etc) onto the screen throughout the video, meaning we have to pause, turn off subtitles, skip back, play, (potentially pause to read the screenshot bc usually they are longer to read than the few seconds they basically flash on the screen for), pause again, turn subtitles back on.
And this exposes us to more ads than necessary, as lately YouTube has been doing this thing where when you pause, it forces you out of fullscreen to serve you a sidebar ad that takes up ⅓-½ the screen. Also sometimes when you skip back after an ad, it either won't let you skip to before the ad, or serves you more ads!! (Idk if that was a bug or something)
As many of us are poor (being disabled is expensive like you wouldn't imagine + being unable to work = little to no income), alongside the issue of some of us also grappling with compulsive buying/impulsive spending as either a symptom, side effect, or comorbidity (or more than one of those, if not all) - it is unfair to be exposed to more ads.
It's all so hostile to the disabled user
I know there's worse things going on in the world right now and what-not, I mean actually I often use YouTube to catch up on a lot of those goings-on. But sometimes it's just unwatchable, and I wish creators would consider this when slapping things right where captions go. And tweaking the captions to be smaller is not the answer bc i need the captions to be prominent, they should be designed not to be hidden under the captions with default setting.
Ideally YouTube would make an option to upload a subtitle-friendly version but i can't see people, let alone an enshittified tech company, putting in THAT much effort for us the disabled/hard of hearing/deaf.
