learning my BPD diagnosis was wrong and I actually have schizotypical personality disorder is insane.. uhm..thanks whoever made that affirmations meme..it helped my friends lead me towards that and after a long while of hyper focused research and talks with my friend [who is schizophrenic] we have concluded it's likely I was mis-diagnosed....*loud sigh*

being schizophrenic is so weird because you’ll never be able to openly speak about it. my mom tries to keep what has happened and what’s currently happening to me quiet by describing me as an “extremely anxious” person to everyone who knows me, especially those who saw me during my psychosis. my grandma would tell people that i am sick.

it’s sweet in a way. they don’t want people to think i’m crazy without reason i guess.

Hi! I’ve been browsing the szpd tags lately and I notice they’re often tagged along with disorders like schizophrenia, schizoaffective, etc (basically psychotic disorders). Is it just me, or does schizoid, despite having the schiz-, not really “fit” with those disorders?

Well they often comorbid, i.e. come up in one fancy pack. Even though SzPD diagnosis may or may not be consumed by “higher rank”, it doesn’t nullify the traits, which might be actual to talk about separately and/or along with other stuff. After all, they’re all on same spectrum, and schizoid/schizotypical/paranoid are in same PD cluster as well.
