Okay folks so I am stressing so bad about probably not being able to finish preparing the materials for the exam I should give at the end of the month, that I am sabotaging myself. Because I keep slipping into paranoia and get distracted from what I am actually doing.

If anyone has tips on how what the hell to do to prevent this please tell me.

Summer 17: Advise for going back to school

Hey, guys, I did another post like this that you guys seemed to enjoy so here's another one with more tips (Middle school to high school edition) hope ya enjoy :)

Do NOT let anyone distract you from your goal, whether it’s your friends or people from your school or a teacher, focus and work hard and you can get there

Don't focus on popularity no matter if you wish you had so many other friends like those popular kids I’m 100% sure they’re not completely satisfied with themselves

Don’t take an AP class it’s going to be hard enough adjusting from the big workload, an AP class can really ruin your year wait at least till sophomore year

Be you this is so important and not all high schools are the same but the more popular kids in mine are kinda weird in their own way and they own their weirdness 

Focus if you weren't such a great student in middle school this is your time to shine especially since every year counts for college

Be prepared get those summer assignments done, have all your schedules and passwords somewhere findable this will make the transition so much easier

Stick with your friends but make new ones it’s great if you have lots of friends so you alway have someone to talk with in classes but don't ignore those who have stuck by you but don't let them hold you back if you feel there not good for you

I scored a 25 on my ACT mainly because I figured out how to beat the test. On the reading, part solve the line questions first. line questions are the questions that literally have the line that the answer is in ex: “in line 46 the word "enticingly” means there’s always roughly 15 line questions, you damn there passed already. Next do the keyword search method. Key word search is when there’s a specific word in the question that you skim the article to fine. It’s often names or dates. If the question mentions Jake skim the passage and read the scentence everywhere it says Jake. Lastly do letter of the day. LOTD is when you absolutely don’t know don’t Christmas tree the paper pick one letter and stick with it. Preferably B or C. On the ACT wrong answers do not count against you

So this year I’m finally going to public school for the first time, I’ve been home schooled my whole life and I’m not sure what I’m supposed to expect. I’m sixteen, I live in america and I can post my class list if that helps.

So im currently doing my first yr of biology alevel. After are first teacher left to make babies we got 2 new ones to replace her. One is like the coolest, best science teacher i have ever had and the second is a newer teacher. Now, the second teacher is not a good teacher, and im not the only one saying so - everyone she teaches agrees, 1st and 2nd yr students. She doesnt explain things well, she sets homework for things she hasnt taught yet and picks on very specific pupils in the class. We complained, as a group, and the college did nothing. Nada. In fact, we now have her for more teaching time than the good teacher. I have had 2 panic attacks in her class and multiple break downs at home. I (and the rest of my class) dont know who to turn to. We dont want to fail and teaching ourselves wont cut it like it did for GCSE. What can we do??

I think it’s great that you want and are able to go to university! I think it’s best to follow your heart and passion. What do you like? Most studies can be traced back to three different areas: alfa (languages and social studies), beta (science) and gamma (economics etc.), so try to pick the area that suits you the best and then try to find a study that you love. I grown up in an Asian family, which means I had two options regarding to what I wanted to be when I was big: becoming a medical docter or a doctor, so I understand your family situation. However, I would take their pushing as an advice, not as a direction you NEED to follow. It’s your life and you are the one that needs to life it to the fullest!
