The Ebola Virus is deadly as it targets the liver cells, white blood cells, and endothelial cells (the cells that make up a blood vessel).  The virus disrupts the cell’s ability to stick together, initiating the vessel wall to become loose and causing internal bleeding. While targeted the liver cells, the body's ability to clear toxins out of the bloodstream is lost and infecting the immune system, the virus can reproduce without much of a fight.  Over time, the effects cause the organs to fail, the body shuts down and dies. These are impressive little creatures!! 🧸 They're mostly found in moist environments and usually feeding on plant cells, but Tardigrades are known to be indestructible. Water provides the oxygen via a gas exchange, and in dry conditions, they enter a cryptobiotic state of desiccation to survive for years, decades, or more...
