Answering these questions for my “Not On The Side of Angels” series since “Domesticity” is one of your favorite fics and that’s the series it’s in.
3. What was their first impression of each other? Seb was pretty much smitten with Molly from the get-go, even though she was Moriarty’s conquest at the time, and Molly thought Seb was interesting but didn’t think much of him as a general first impression.
4. Who initiates affection? Why does the other not initiate affection as much? Molly is definitely the more affectionate one at first, but as their relationship progresses and Seb gets more comfortable in something that’s not a purely sexual relationship, he begins to initiate it just as much as she does,
8. What do they love most about the other? Why? Seb loves that Molly is not only kind and loving but accepts him wholly despite his past. Molly loves that Seb will raze the earth to protect her and later their children) if needed.
12. Do they have a difficult time when separated from each other, or are they fairly independent? They’re fairly independent, though Molly tends to have a harder time coping when they’re separated for more than a couple of weeks.
20. How do they comfort each other when one of them is upset? Is this method of comfort effective? Molly is a hugger, most definitely. She’ll just hold Seb close until he feels better. And Seb is the type to comfort by doing little things to cheer her up, like doing more than his share of chores when she’s down, offering massages to help ease physical tension, making her a good meal and pairing it with wine she likes…he pays attention to the little details and Molly appreciates it so much.
23. What are the defining characteristics of their relationship? They had an unusual start (Molly was more or less forced to be Moriarty’s conquest, and when she wanted to go out and do things he had Seb join her, and then they had a brief physical relationship after Moriarty’ death before settling int a friendship for a time while she was dating Tom and then after Sherlock’s return), but basically once they started a romantic relationship there has been complete trust and honesty, more open communication than mos of Molly’ past relationships, and things evolved more or less organically once they became friends.
25. Do they share a room/house? If so, what does it look like and how does it compliment their personalities? Initially they live in separate residences, but as the series progresses Molly invited Seb to share space in her room and eventually he moves in with her. Seb liked the way her home was so it pretty much stayed the same, with just a few touches from Seb in the sitting room and more in the bedroom,
29. Describe their nighttime routine. Prior to them having kids they would enjoy dinner together (either at home or on a date) and then watch something on the telly and either shag of fall asleep. After they have their three kids it’s a family dinner, then when the kids are little Molly gives the younger ones a bath while Seb reads bedtime stories to whichever older ones want one, and then Seb and Molly go spend some time together, either watching a movie or doing their own things in the same space, then they retire to bed together.
31. Do they often go out on dates? What are these like? They go out on dates more before they have children, but basically they would go do whatever date activity they had planned and afterward they would go to a cafe Molly and Seb frequented when Molly was Moriarty’s mistress and people watch.
32. Do either of them drink? If so, who’s the lightweight, and how does their partner care for them? They both drink, and neither of them are a lightweight per se, but Molly usually sticks with wine and Seb has a lager or Irish whiskey. They just make sure if the other overindulges there is aspirin and water nearby when they wake up and the room is as dark as it can get in the morning.
35. Is their relationship a secret? If so, why? It’s not really a secret but they don’t flaunt it because they like keeping it private.
36. How do they feel about having kids? Are they in agreement? Seb was unsure about children at first, but at one point he told Molly he knew if he were to die and they had kids she would take care of them and not fall apart. All three of their children were unplanned, but both Molly and Seb were happy with each one of them.
37. Who’s more emotionally sensitive/cries more often? Molly is definitely the more emotional one, though Seb does have his moments.
39. When and how did they admit that they loved each other? If they haven’t yet, why? I haven’t written that particular scene yet, but I know it will be something that slips out on Seb’s part and Molly enthusiastically confirms she loves him as well.
42. What’s their relationship like with each other’s friends/families? Molly only has her mother left but her mom loves Seb like she’s his own, which is good because Seb is an orphan in this series. As for friends, Seb is a loner and initially he keeps his distance from Molly’s core group of friends, especially Sherlock, but eventually he get to know them better. Mary he knew by reputation so he gets along with her the best, an he and Sherlock end up sharing a love of science experiments so once they start doing the really crazy stuff in Seb’s more dilapidated building he owns they become much better friends. The rest of Molly’s friends (John, Lestrade, Sally, Meena, etc.) he gets along with well enough.
43. If they picked out outfits for each other, what would they look like? Seb likes Molly in dresses that show off her back, so he’d probably pick a halter dress with a skirt down to at least her knees and patterned with flowers, and he would ask her to pin her hair up. Molly thinks Seb looks fantastic in his bespoke suits, so she’d pick a black one and pair it with a shirt that isn’t white to make it pop.

Which one is more fond of scary movies: Seb. Molly likes some of them (and it’s often a hit or miss type thing; for example, she adores “Silent Hill” but thinks the newer Texas Chainsaw Massacre is too bloody boring, but she won’t consider watching any of the Friday the 13th movies) but Seb has seen far worse so it’s like watching a regular movie for him.Which one gets the most excited about Halloween: Molly. It’s not widely celebrated in the UK, but she loves to watch all sorts of kid-friendly Halloween things, and skulls make a more prominent appearance in decorations in her lab office.Which one would be more likely to survive the apocalypse: Seb, but he’d make sure Molly survived as well. Wouldn’t be worth it otherwise, and Molly stronger and smarter than a lot of people give her credit for.Which one would literally kill for the other: Both. It’s not up for debate.Which one likes to scare or startle the other: Molly hates being startled, so Seb refrains most of the time. Sometimes, though, he can’t resist the urge.Which one is more likely to need comforting when they get spooked: MollyWhich one always puts on a brave face: Molly.Which one would be more dangerous if they suddenly became violent: Molly, surprisingly. Seb would be calm and somewhat predictable; if Molly became violent, she wouldn’t be predictable. She knows it would get her caught.Which one would be more likely to commit a crime: Seb, because, you know, right-hand man of the world’s first consulting criminal? But he insists he’s retired.Which one believes in ghosts: Seb, surprisingly. Sometimes he feels like he’s haunted by more and more each passing year.Which one likes to watch spooky show on television: Seb, though Molly likes some of them, depending on the premise.Which one would propose the idea of holding a seance: Neither, though Molly would go to one for funsies.Which one has nightmares more often: They both have their fair share.Which one would want to explore a real haunted house: Seb
SCARY OTP MEME: SEND A PAIR AND I’LL FILL THIS OUT
I like to think that when it comes to who sings along with the radio, Molly has it on as often as possible and knows all the current hits (and quite a few older ones) and sings along with them in an almost whispery voice, as though she doesn't want to be heard, and Moran just hums. Not that he can't sing, he would just much prefer to listen to Molly sing instead. But catch him in the shower alone and you're in for a treat...he sings old Irish love songs.
This is another birthday fic for you, hun! No sex but plenty of fluff.
The Perfect Husband (An "If Wishes Were Horses Beggars Would Ride" Story) - Molly wakes up on her birthday to find Seb put together the whole nursery for their daughter while she was sleeping.

“Another year older, eh, Toby?” Molly said as she woke up to find the bed empty except for her cat, who was pooled in a fluffy ball at her feet. Where her husband had disappeared to she had no clue, but just in case he wanted to surprise her, she decided to stay in bed a little longer. She pulled Toby up to her expanded belly and began to give him scritches. “And soon the little one will be here and life as you know it will be over.”
She petted her cat for a while and then frowned. There was no sounds of breakfast being made, or of Seb moving around anywhere. Setting Toby down she got out of bed, wincing slightly at her lower back pain, and then put her slippers on and made her way out of the bedroom. She checked the sitting room, the kitchen, even the guest bedroom. No Seb.
The last place to look was the room they were turning into a nursery for the baby. A girl, she’d just found out the week before. Pregnancy was hard on her, but she was happy nonetheless, and Seb seemed ecstatic at the news they were having a girl. He was going to be a good dad, she thought to herself, opening the door to a heart-melting sight.
They’d put off decorating until they knew whether they were having a boy or a girl, though the decor was as gender neutral as possible, but she hadn’t had the time or energy to do anything with it aside from painting the walls a moss green with yellow and orange accents. As she stated at the completely finished nursery, her gaze drifted to the rocking chair, where Seb was sound asleep sitting up.
The wonderful, absolutely wonderful man I married did this for me, she thought to herself. Even though she wasn’t actively working at Barts at the moment she was completing a lot of research she’d started prior to getting wrapped up in Sherlock’s world and writing papers for publication like it was going out of style. She’d been so busy with that, along with the uncomfortableness she was having as she got later in her pregnancy, that she hadn’t even thought about the nursery. She didn’t mind he had done it all himself because it looked absolutely perfect.
She moved over to him, letting one hand cup the side of his face gently and cradling his face in her hand. After a moment he turned his head and pressed a kiss to her palm. “Surprise?” he said before yawning and pulling away.
“You are magnificent. An absolutely phenomenal man,” she said, leaning over and kissing his cheek. “It looks wonderful. Maureen will love it.”
“Maureen, eh?,” he said with a grin. Instead of standing up he gently pulled her over to him to sit on his lap. She did, resting her head against his as they sat there.
“Or Abigail. How about Abigail Maureen Moran?”
“That certainly rolls off the tongue. I like it,” he said with a slight nod. “You really like the nursery? I know it’s not my actual birthday gift for you, but I couldn’t sleep last night.”
“I love it,” Molly said. “In fact, if you’ll accompany me back to the bedroom, let me remind you of just how much I love you.”
“Don’t you want breakfast in bed first?” he asked.
“Shag first. Breakfast later,” she said before pulling him in for a nice, long kiss. After he pulled away her set her on the ground, stood up, and then gathered his giggling wife in his arms, carrying her to the room. I married a good one, she thought to herself as she let him have his wicked way with her as soon as the bedroom door was shut behind him. How did I ever get so lucky?
