I have finished the first draft of a Sherlock fic that's over 60k and will inevitably get longer when I redraft and flesh out bits of description etc.

It is called The Love Square.

The fic has 4 parts.

Each part has 4 chapters.

Each chapter has 4 sections which focus on John, Sherlock, Greg and Molly respectively.

Thus, there are 4 levels of organisation: whole, part, chapter, section.

There are 4 sides to a square.

There are 16 chapters, which is the square of 4.

There are 64 sections, which is its cube.

It is SO fucking square.

I am SO proud of this achievement.

Yes, I know it is unhinged.

I’m my favorite pairings, i definitely relate to one person over the other.. which I’m sure is normal. But I’m trying to deduce if there’s a pattern here.

With Destiel, I 100% relate to Castiel.

With Ineffable husbands, I relate to Crowley.

With Ed and Stede I relate to Ed.

With Hayffie I relate to Haymitch

With Virginia and Wolf I relate to Wolf

With Rumbelle I’m Rumple through and through.

So far I’d think wow I relate to dudes even when a chick is there.. but then

With Luke and Lorelai I’m 100% Lorelai.

And with Mollstrade, I’m a Molly. Through and through.

With Tara and Willow I relate to both, but more so Tara.

And then you get to Whouffaldi and I relate to both equally. 😂

Anyway I don’t know if I’m actually getting anywhere with this. Just thinking is all. Lol probably part of what made me realize my gender is all… wibbly wobbly bendy Wendy

currently in my yearly short-lived fixation on bbc sherlock era and i am always absolutely saddened by the fact that mollstrade isn't as popular as the other ships and i only have crumbs of fanworks about them. like please they look so good together and were lowkey sneakily interested in each other. ugh, hate the writers for making molly interested in sherlock instead of greg

1: What inspired you to write the fic this way? I started this fic at a time when Superwholock was huge, so when I saw the prompt said "Lestrade gets to herd ALL the cats" I just knew I had to make it a Sherlock/Doctor Who/Supernatural crossover.

2: What scene did you first put down? The scene in the conference room, specifically the but where Lestrade loses his temper at the assorted people helping.

3: What's your favorite line of narration? Sherlock and John were to his right, Molly was to his left, and then there were…them.

4: What's your favorite line of dialogue? A toss-up between “Look, Sherlock, I know you’re a skeptic but trust me, aliens are real and if Molly says demons are real then just believe her, all right? It’s nearly a week to Christmas. Even you can’t ignore the fact that every Christmas season some alien race or another decides to attack. Doctor, the solution to this problem is not herding us all on the TARDIS and taking us somewhere where we can plot and plan. Real lives are in danger and I’m not going to leave London to be tormented by a reincarnated Moriarty who’s possessed by a demon and has a Dalek on the loose. Dean, stop yelling at Molly for dating a copper. She’s about to be married to one if I have any say in the matter so you better get used to the idea.” and “If it wasn’t in our dad’s book it was someplace else we’ve been. I mean, we took down Lucifer. A King of Hell should be a piece of cake.”

5: What part was hardest to write? The rest of it after Chapter 2. It's been sitting in my WIP folder untouched since January 2020, so almost six years now.

6: What makes this fic special or different from all your other fics? As far as I can remember it's the only Superwholock fic I've ever written; normally I just write Wholock.

7: Where did the title come from? I honestly can't remember.

8: Did any real people or events inspire any part of it? Nope.

9: Were there any alternate versions of this fic? Nope.

10: Why did you choose this pairing for this particular story? If I don't pair Lestrade with Mycroft I usually pair him with Molly or Sally, and Sally wouldn't work well in a romantic pairing with Lestrade in this fic.

11: What do you like best about this fic? The interconnections of Lestrade being a former companion of the Doctor and Sam and Dean being Molly's American cousins.

12: What do you like least about this fic? That I haven't the foggiest idea where to take it next.

13: What music did you listen to, if any, to get in the mood for writing this story? Or if you didn't listen to anything, what do you think readers should listen to to accompany us while reading? I was listening to some AC-DC while writing this, and Nirvana too.

14: Is there anything you wanted readers to learn from reading this fic? I am cray, in a good way.

15: What did you learn from writing this fic? I am sometimes too ambitious for my own good.
