Hiii Sefina, I hope you’re doing well—I know these past few days have been interesting with that anon. But, I had a genuine question about how to better connect with our own intuition and our spirit guides. How has your journey been with this? And, what are you favorite ways to strengthen your communication with your intuition and spirit team? Much love and appreciation 🖤
Well, I will be straight with you, I know absolutely nothing about spirit guides, so I will not be helpful with you on that concept; regarding your other questions, I got you.
I have split this into five categories:
What is intuition?
How to connect with your intuition?
What ways can you improve with it (both as a reader and as a non)?
My journey with intuition.
My favorite ways to strengthen my intuition.
What is intuition?
People have said intuition is this gut feeling you feel when you know something bad is going to occur and that everyone has it, which, on the contrary, is true albeit there is more to it based on my experiences and observations. When I break everything down, you will be able to see intuition like an atom. In an atom there are the neutron, the proton, and the electron.
In an atom, the nucleus holds inside the proton and the neutron, but without the electron, everything would spill out and nothing would make sense because it is still a key component to understand the study of an atom. In this case, intuition can be said to be the same; without the human mind (objectively the subconscious mind), you would never have intuition to begin with. The reason why I am using science, primarily simple science, is because I want you to understand how easy intuition actually is, but people overcomplicate it too much.
Secondarily, think of our inner voice as a proton. Protons are positive charges that are bond together with neutrons. So, in this format, think about the neutron as our doubts and the willingness to improve. But when you are improving, you are always going to have doubts—those doubts are your bond to trusting your inner voice.
People say that doubts should be rid of entirely, though the issue with that is it would make it harder for you to develop a strong sense of self and the concept of intuition.
When we have doubts, we tend to ignore our inner voice because logic would say something else or we were taught something else. But if you learn to understand and observe your ‘proton,’ you will realize it has no intention of causing a catastrophe and wants to soothe your worries, or in this case, strengthen your ‘neutron.’
Without the proton and neutron, things would escalate, and none of us would exist. Think of that with intuition. Without learning to improve yourself and thinking your doubts are your enemy, you simply make it harder to trust your intuition because you see it as a catastrophe.
The question comes back: why did I mention the electron and the subconscious mind being the same? Think of it like this, without taking care of your subconscious mind, which is the key to your intuition and memories, and without taking care of your mindset [what you feed it, what you say, how you react, and so forth], you will never have a strong development of hearing your inner self (your higher self or intuition regarding your beliefs) and will always fear it as something awful rather than something beautiful that should be taken care of.
How to connect with your intuition?
People connect with their intuition in the best ways they know, whether that is being inspired by someone else or following their own way. From my observations, I have noticed it is more so people feeling inspired by creators they love, and I also have seen people feeling embarrassed for that. First of all, there is absolutely no reason for anyone to feel insecure because we all start from somewhere, and to be able to spread something beautiful should be well loved, and even if it is kept to themselves, it should be appreciated nonetheless.
Connecting with your intuition is like a puzzle. Have you seen those puzzles where there are multiple-colored strings tangled in one another, and you must untangle them in order to find the right sequence so it is not mismatched and you can pass the level? I will use this example here.
Imagine this: you are playing a level of this on your electronic device, but you are struggling with this level for some reason. Your gut is telling you that you should remove the red string from the blue string so the pink string can help you solve this issue. The problem is, it does not sound logical at all, nor does your heart agree. You are having this mental war inside your mind, so instead of listening, you go with what you want (in this case, let’s say your heart and logic at the same time) and find out you started at the same place you originally were.
With that frustration, you decided to blame yourself for this failure, muttering how you should have used your logic instead. Since that self-blame is fueling your motivation to keep going, you decided to listen to it and changed the green strings from the red and blue, lapping them together, and because it is going so well, you start to gain an ego boost only to be stuck with the same situation when your intuition told you what to do. But you are proud, so you ignore it and do the same thing your logic said and end up in a worse situation. You get angry and restart the game in the heat of the moment, worsening your self-blame.
After a while (let’s say you quit for a week), you come back to play it and have cooled down. You, this time, have learned your lesson and decided to listen to your heart, ignoring your intuition because again, it doesn’t make any sense, and intuition should make sense; for fuck’s sake, it is part of the right side of your brain, so it should work out with your heart. You do the same game situation by listening to your heart but pulling the blue string away from the pink string, and it is working, only for the red and green strings to be stuck with one another.
Now what?
You decided to ignore your intuition giving you another signal, rolling your eyes because you know best, and follow through with your heart since this is something you have been doing for so long and have never followed your gut when it has been right because you cannot admit it. Well, you followed it, and then what happened? You threw the electronic device in frustration, blaming everything else but you. That is what happened.
Now, why did this situation occur? Well, let’s break it down. If you were to listen to your intuition, right? Then none of this would have occurred, and you would not have gone into a frenzy of self-blame and self-distrust. You would not have broken your electronic device, you would not have blamed others, and you would have just listened to a thought and seen if it would work out in your favor instead of spiraling into a meaningless frenzy.
The reason why this example was given is simple. Think of being a child and learning your native language's alphabet. When you learn, you know absolutely nothing, and in this case, you did not know how to beat the level. As you progress into learning the fundamentals of your native language’s alphabet and its core, you start to realize what the words mean, what they sound like, and how to use them for yourself even if they are small. The same can be said here, when you start to listen to your intuition and the core of it (as I have broken it down for you), you start to realize that each time you listen to it, you are developing a language for yourself between you and your intuition.
What ways can you improve with it (both as a reader and as a non)?
The reason why I am adding both a reader and a nonreader is because I have some of you following me and others, and then eventually making your own because you got inspired.
How to improve as a reader?
When it comes to reading, sometimes you will read for others, but when you become too anxious, you sidetrack and do it for yourself instead. I have made three categories based on what can help you improve your intuition.
A reader for others with anxiety:
Now having anxiety while doing readings can be so challenging. One thing that helps is understanding and observing your intuition. Take it with ease because what I have learned is that your inner voice always clashes with paranoid and self-induced scary thoughts. For example, let’s say that someone is trying to scam me, and in this case, my anxiety says to trust them, and my intuition tells me not to? Of course, if I was in a panic mode, I would listen to my anxiety, especially if it has tricked itself to mimic my intuition. So instead of allowing it, when those thoughts appear, stop what you do and listen. What is the voice actually saying? You can notice small, subtle changes between your anxiety and intuition. Intuition is knowing, especially without evidence, and anxiety is trying to copy your intuition and make you spiral. If you notice the change, you can always remind yourself your intuition has the best intentions for you, even if it is something you want and cannot have. Think of it as a self-disciplined parent who loves you and wants the (actual) best for you, but sometimes they have to be strict for you to get something more sustainable than not.
A reader for others and yourself:
If you do readings for others and yourself, or either, you can improve your intuition by practicing different genres of questions. I have seen most readers (not only on here) always doing future person, which there is nothing wrong with (and never will be), but if you keep focusing on the same category each time, you will only improve in that section alone. Even if sometimes you talk about something else regarding the reading—it’s still the same category, and the room for improvement is limited.
The second thing you can do is when you fail and someone tells you that they did not resonate with your reading, instead of beating yourself up or seeing failure as something bad, use that failure for improvement. I truly believe failure is such a beautiful concept that is incredibly misunderstood with how others have grown up and projected that misconception onto others and most likely you. But failure is your way to success and improvement.
A reader for yourself:
You can improve your intuition by doing simple readings and playing multiple-guessing games. Simple readings, like dissecting yourself as if you were a frog.
Example:
“What is happening for me in said month?”
“How does my favorite color represent the core of my personality and trauma?”
“Is my crush actually my type, or is it due to trauma and present projection?”
Multiple-guessing games example:
Guess-who.
What color am I going to pick?
What does your intuition say about so and so?
Remember, all three categories are valid, and no one has any obligation to change how they do things unless they desire to.
I have more information if you're curious (here). Someone asked me about tarot, but I believe you can learn some things about your intuition further.
How to improve as a nonreader?
Being a nonreader has a lot of limitations with improving your intuition. The concept of intuition is learning, adapting, projecting those lessons, and using it as something within (or outwardly on) an object, like how tarot/intuitive readers do their work. So, I will break it down with photosynthesis.
You are a lovely plant dancing in the cloud’s atmosphere, waiting for your best friend to come out of their hiding spot and feed your vitamins to you so you can produce oxygen for others. It’s a win-win done deal. Eventually the sun comes out, winks at you, and gives you chlorophyll. The sun absorption, if you will, as it is feeding you, your stomata are opening up for carbon dioxide to go through and give you vitamins. Without it, you would dry out and wither away, and that is something you cannot have done to you, so you absorb water from the soil beneath you and allow yourself to worship all of your leaves and stem with the water. It feels refreshing, but it doesn’t feel enough, but eventually you feel the transformation of your body as you feel the photosynthesis occurring, and you feel grounded like you got it right despite in that moment not thinking it would happen.
I will break down the metaphor of this and what my intention was regarding it.
You are a lovely human waiting for your thoughts to go away because it feels too cloudy and is causing a lack of judgment. You are waiting for your best friend, also known as your intuition. It feels like you cannot hear them because your mindset is all jumbled up and nothing is making sense. You know that if your intuition helps you out, you can also help yourself and others even if it’s through simple advice without the need of intuition. You know that intuition can improve your mindset, thus projecting that onto others and yourself for growth. You know all of this, and you know your intuition has already helped you, but this decision is stressing you out for some reason. Instead of spiraling like before, you see your friend come out and wink at you, knowing you calm down to hear it out.
Intuition gives you the answer through your worries despite being calm and tells you what you have to do. But then your stomata, or yourself, is telling you another thing; it is by no means about doubt or the need to improve, it is more so about just giving you its thought about what intuition has been telling you and how it could be broken down like the openings opening. The carbon dioxide is yourself understanding and balancing what your intuition and yourself are saying because at the end of the day, the sun would have never befriended you if you weren’t you and it loves you after all. You know that if you did not have that balance, you would lose it and struggle to trust yourself and make this stressful decision. You gain the courage to absorb the water from the soil and commit to the decision and allow yourself to remove all tension from the head to the soles of your feet, feeling everything simply fade and allowing yourself to breathe properly.
The problem is that you don’t think this is going to do anything and start to have second thoughts because nothing is happening. There is no physical evidence, so how could intuition be right? In that moment it felt right, but now it started to feel wrong, and you are not sure what to do because you trust yourself and your intuition, you really do… but the lack of physical evidence is tricking you. But eventually you start to see the physical evidence appear, and it starts to feel right—you see the transformation of what your intuition told you in your present moment, and it soothed everything of you completely.
You are completely grounded and trust yourself further, not just more, but completely.
And each time you doubt yourself, you will start to remember about this memory, and your neurons are going to signal to your brain, making it a recurring thought and a way for you to always trust yourself, which is why I spoke about the subconscious mind focusing on intuition and memories.
My journey with intuition.
I actually appreciate that you have asked me about my journey, but anyways, my journey with intuition has been a huge bombshell. I truly want to say, “yeah, my intuition and I were two peas in a pod before I became a reader,” but ah, I would be lying badly.
My journey with intuition has been one of the worst roller coasters in human history. Do you know those "top 10 worst roller coasters to ride on?" It would be similar to that. Usually when it comes to roller coasters, you would have a thrilling experience alongside loops, twists, or both. Mine would be just flat for the longest time, and then bam, the longest drop in the world, and then up and down like mad, and then finally… it would slow down and be ah. You would think it is the end of the ride, but no, it would be like 12x (my intuition says) of the same ride until it ended.
I won’t go into too many details about my journey, as I don’t see it as necessary to bore you with the details (more so, Tumblr and its limitation of text), but I will summarize some things for you.
For me personally, looking back, I always thought intuition was not really bullshit, but I would see psychic scammers, and that shaped my perspective on spirituality and what psychics would be like. Like, I knew my intuition was sharp because I was able to ‘accidentally’ predict things, but when I told others about it, they would gaslight me and assume I was nuts, so that same projection lingered with me, and I just stopped for a bit. But for some reason, I could never let it go because it would also be horrific things, people dying, car accidents, how someone would come up to us and I wouldn’t know them, how friendships would end, exes coming back for people, etc. Like, I knew there was more to me than what people would say, but it still affected me, and I succumbed to my insecurities for a long time.
Then, out of random, I was in high school learning about the Psychology, and I kept seeing reoccurring signs, and I was trying to understand why. I was able to hear another version of me, but it didn’t make any sense because when I used to see those visions (at the time, I did not know what it was), there was never an inner voice to begin with.
I eventually started to experiment to figure out what the fuck was happening, and throughout the experiment, I was never truly able to figure out what the signs were actually about, but the more I listened to my inner voice, the more I realized my visions were improving so much and I was becoming more protected (looking back). Intuition tells me right now that I saved myself multiple times from getting killed (which is a wow moment right now for me).
Fast forward, before I started my account, I didn’t really understand what intuition was about, or intuitive readings because I kept channeling so many things and felt very overwhelmed. And randomly, out of the blue, a tarot reading appears on my YouTube feed, and I listen to it, and it reads my situation so well, it freaked me out but it drew me in. I don't know how exactly or what I was thinking in the past, but all I knew for some fucking reason is that I am going to appear like that soon because I told myself I would be an author in the future, and in some way, I believe I am.
When I started my account, I didn’t know what I was doing or how I would set anything up, and I looked around Tumblr and just followed alongside tarot/intuitive readers' setup gear before I got my own grip. But during those times is where that roller coaster metaphor comes in, because, oh boy. If I didn’t have to summarize this, it would be more than a 12-page essay. But basically, I trusted intuition for a bit, received a painful hate comment on my sfw account, and then started doubting. It went back and forth, then amplified as I received more, back and forth, etc., and then eventually I told myself, “fuck them, they can eat my shits for all I care. Bet they’ll like it. They are an asshole, and I don’t deserve this treatment.” And voilà, here we are.
I still trust my intuition as much as I can when it comes to big decisions, but when it comes to small experiences and decisions, it’s more so “eh.” I talk more about this (here), but also, I want to experience things that I won’t like because I just know I won’t like them, but then I am able to analyze why I don’t, and I can utilize that for my future, for the present, for fun, or whatever the reason is.
My favorite ways to strengthen my intuition.
I think it is rather obvious in the ways I adore strengthening my intuition since I am a reader now, but aside from that, there are a lot of things I have been doing to improve.
Because I find failure to be a beautiful concept, I usually make myself watch crime and mystery TV shows in order for me to see how far along I have come with my intuition. Before I was doubting my intuition, I would try to guess who committed the crime with only my intuition, and whenever I got it wrong, I would do a pac for you guys. And this was a back and forth situation, which, ironically, improved my intuition a bit more than I expected since now it’s literally one of my favorite things to do. And when I do it, I just know now, and sometimes it ruins the fun of “omg, I didn’t know it was him/her/them!” Now it’s just like, “this is so obvious, how come they don’t see it?”
Another thing I do to improve my intuition is allow myself to do fun and short readings (now). This was inspired by my professor that took points off my essay because it went over the word count lol. But it turns out this has improved my intuition more than I realized. Because when it comes to lengthy readings, I’m going all out, whatever is coming amidst, right? But when I have the goal to shorten, I am realizing how to channel the gist of something. The best way to explain it is like making a synopsis of a book that I am writing to catch my audience's attention.
This one is kind of odd, but I have always been able to tell if someone was going to fuck with me or not by their body movement and how they interacted with me with their tone, so lately, I have been intuitively channeling that without using my knowledge, like I was an FBI agent specialized in this. And now I am able to tell super quickly compared to analyzing it which is a huge difference.
I’m also able to use music to channel messages for myself and for you guys. I used to not listen to music when I channeled, and now I need it because it’s like whatever sees I am channeling for myself or you guys, it knows exactly what the messages are supposed to be and wants to help expand it. It's kind of a tarot mix with instant magical powers.
The last one is using my intuition when I do my college homework. This has saved me so much time, oh my gosh, but I have always been an A student, sometimes a B if the classes are a pain, but mainly an A, right? Well, last year, I tested out this experiment with my English composition class because, mind you, my format in anything English was hard to comprehend (in my perspective) since it’s not my first language, and I gradually improved like mad. But when it came to my final essay, I honestly wanted to half-ass it because I could not understand the motherfucking words of Edgar Allan Poe, so I was like, "let me just half-ass the outline," and then when I was writing the essay, midway I realized I could just use my intuition, and so I did. I was the only person to receive 100% and received many praises and recommendations (this helps progress your career and gets you in better colleges/internships/scholarships) from my professor. And also, I realized after I saw that sweet message from my professor that my outline was also done through my intuition.
