I feel like being healthy is impossible...
I have started a self healing, loving and nurturing journey for the summer. In order to allow my jaw to be in a comfortable place, where I can walk side by side with it through my life, instead of it pulling me on a leash, I need to relieve the tension built up in the muscles. I need to do what my body needs to relieve the stress and tension. I have started off with the basics; Exercise, water and nutrients.
I have been drinking 8 glasses of water for the last four days. Yeah I know, it's not a celebration, but it's a start. My mom recently bought me the Vitamix and so I have been getting my servings of vegetables every day! I started walking two days go. Baby steps, but that's where I am at.
Today though, for some dumb reason. I started reading myself in circles about the above. Is drinking 8 glasses of water good for me or bad for me? Is it good water? What about the chlorine? How do that the fruits and vegetables we are eating are actually organic/natural?
I feel like being healthy is impossible in the world we are living in. I start reading, which I should just refrain from doing, this STUPID book by Kevin Trudeau and read way too much. This guy basically tells you that everything is poisonous and that EVERYTHING is essentially going to kill you. It was nuts and when I was done with the book I thought to myself, "How do you live a healthy life if you are continuously thinking about all the harm you are doing to yourself?"
A lot of the things that he mentioned were bad for your health are, I'm sure, are bad for my health, but it's like, what can we do? Everything is hidden from us. Sure companies say this and this, but what is really true about the "organic" fruit and vegetables we are eating? Or about the water we are drinking? I spent hours researching the difference between tap, spring, distilled, filtered and purified water and I came to the conclusion that purified is potentially the best, though some tap water is completely fine to drink (go New York City). So I looked up the best brands of purified water and found that Nestle Pure Life is the way to go. It is the number one trusted bottled water, but still, there's a catch, there always is. There's something the company isn't saying.
I was totally fine drinking my mom's refrigerator water until I did my research. I think the biggest thing that freaks me out, aside from the other cancerous chemicals, is the chlorine that they use to disinfect the tap water. Chlorine is a chemical that should not be going into our bodies. Not only does is live in our tap water that we drink, but we shower in that water as well and the chlorine is being absorbed into or pores and then our body.
I start thinking way too much about the risks of all these different things and it honestly turns into a headache. We try living healthy, but we are all so worried about all these risks and so on and so fourth, that we are in our head and not really living.
I think I just need to continue to live. We are so small on this planet and our lives are so short. Thinking about the risks of drinking water or showering is so minimal right now. I do not think that in our life to we will ever see anything so drastic with our water. It was definitely happen at some point. There is only so much water and I can totally see them genetically modify liquids to become water.
Life is short. We all need to realize that. I think WebMD is a a no-no. If you can do something that makes you feel better, like growing your own fruits and vegetables or getting a purified filter for your shower or your faucets then do it, but don't worry after that because you can all do so much with the resources we have.
