Hello! I've seen your recent post about Senpi on BlueSky. Judging by your comment on Last Boss Rush on YouTube, you've already read his blog post.
I've found that there was discussion about Senpi on Nicovideo Dictionary (dic.nicovideo.jp/b/a/戦ピー/1-). Basically, it seems like when Senpi upload the second part of Touhou EX Boss Rush, people started critisizing him for including original stuff (like Mitori and Momiji's theme).

Heya, thank you very much I was already aware of all of this information, but still, thank you for being interested, it means a lot to me that i am not the only one who cares about Senpi and wants him to come back For those who are not aware of Senpi's final blogpost, it is available here: https://web.archive.org/web/20110915142336/http://senpi1971.blog81.fc2.com/ I will include the full copypasted blogpost and the translation under the "read more" section at the bottom of this post Judging from the current information we have, it's difficult to form a solid conclusion on why he left i feel From what we know, the amount of criticism against Senpi's inclusion of fan-made characters was not the opinion of the majority, despite that, it seems that a vocal minority of critics have bothered Senpi greatly What's really confusing about this though, is that there seem to be multiple reasons in the current evidence; 1. Senpi deleted his works because he felt rushed when making Touhou EX Boss Rush (judging from his own final blogpost where he prioritises that topic) 2. Senpi deleted his works because the negative criticism surounding the inclusion of fanmade characters got to him In both of these cases, one thing seems clear; Senpi was overly hard on himself and cared so much about his perceived reputation that it greatly bothered him to the point of leaving the internet entirely But what makes this so confusing is that, in his final blogpost, he curiously avoids (on purpose or not on purpose? We don't know) talking about the criticism regarding the inclusion of fanmade characters, and focusses almost fully on the "rushed" narrative This is the only part of the blogpost where he slightly hints at the fanmade character topic:

That part sticks out to me, i don't know what to make of the fact that that is the only part of the blogpost where he refers to the fanmade character topic, and he does it vaguely as well (in my opinion) Was he feeling embarrassed and trying to use the "rushed" narrative as an excuse to deflect the critics to focus on that point instead of the fanmade characters criticism? I wonder if there's something about the criticism against fanmade characters that bothered him more specifically...? Senpi is known to have OC's/fanmade characters, as further evidenced by these archived Pixiv tags on Donmai: https://donmai.moe/artists/77998 This is just a theory, but maybe he was taking it more personally because the criticism involved original/fanmade characters, something he was invested in as well (i remember he even used to draw comics including them, of which very few are still archived, so most of those are lost media, but i remember seeing them on his website in 2010-2011, since i was a fan back then too) I think there's also an important historical context that could be important to keep in mind here; On Niconico back in the late 00's and early 10's, there was a precedent for very agressive behaviour against content creators, especially within the Touhou fandom on Niconico, for example the harrassement and doxxing of people involved with the creation of Touhou voice drama's, which led to multiple people disappearing from the internet, usually to avoid further harassement Perhaps Senpi was wary of the recent harrassement campaigns targeted against other Touhou-related content creators, and was trying to take preventive action by leaving the internet before it could get worse for him (this is just a theory of course) In his final blogpost, Senpi said;
忘れた頃に、戻って来ると思います。 …それでは。またいつか。 (I think it will come back when you've forgotten about it. ...Well then. See you again someday.)
The internet has changed a lot since 2011 If Senpi ever comes back, i hope that i, and others, will have the chance to let him know how much his work positively affected people I still consider Senpi to be one of my biggest music inspirations as a composer myself, and i wouldn't even have become a composer if it wasn't for him When i heard Tiny Crafty Gray for the first time, i just felt so many emotions, it made me cry, i didn't know music was capable of making me feel so many emotions at the same time yet, it really motivated me to pick up music myself as well I want Senpi to come back He was a great composer, a great arranger, and even in 2025, 14 years after his disappearance in 2011, we have not forgotten him, and never will
