Surprises

[Poe Dameron x Reader]

A/N: BTW I don't know much about Poe's mum but I did try my best, some of it may not be accurate but you can pretend it is.. :)

"Quickly Dameron!" You whispered hurriedly as you tug on his orange jumpsuit, urging him to follow you. You take a few steps forward before he slips his hand into yours as he follows you behind, looking a sweet soft lost puppy.

"What's wrong sweetheart? Too eager fo-" You cut him off by slapping a hand across his chest as he lets out a small huff of pain before closing his mouth and seeing his friends up ahead. Finn, Rey and his wonderful droid BB-8 were waiting for the two of you to go for some celebratory drinks, but Poe had other ideas for you.

The minute his X-Wing had landed, he'd rushed to General Organa, handing in his report as quick as possible, avoiding contact with anyone else before taking a shower and finding you. Oh boy had you teased Poe during his mission, he was all worked up from a successful mission and your teasing. If his squadron wasn't with him, and yours, he was pretty sure he would have made you land on the closet planet with him as he took you in the seat of his X-Wing, or yours, he didn't really care. But alas, Poe was unlucky, the minute he had found you, you were already tugging him to meet his friends. Not even a single congratulations kiss had you given him but a small slap on his chest as he proposed staying in bed with you and skipping out on drinks.

"Y/N..." Poe complained as he slumped on your shoulder. "Can't we stay here...? I'll sure we'll have a much better time than having drinks.." His rough fingers trailing down your back, sending tingles down your spine, to slap your bottom as he tugged you back against him, stopping you still in your tracks.

"Poe Dameron!" You whisper-yelled as you stumbled against him, feeling a thick bump against the back of your thigh as Poe slowly grinded against you, small soft moans tumbling out his mouth as he pleasured himself on you. His arms tightening on your hips as he guided your movements.

"You better stop that right now, or so god help me, I will get Leia on your case!" You pulled away from him, stopping his ministrations on you as you stomped over to your friends. You knew Poe, and you knew he would stop at nothing till he got what he wanted, but you were prepared. It's not that you didn't want to be with him, it's just Rey, Finn and BB-8 had planned a surprise party for him, considering today was his birthday and you wanted him to celebrate it with his friends and not just you. Although mind you, you wouldn't mind giving him his present later on, one that you know he would definitely enjoy.

"You're a tease L/N, you know that?" Poe groaned in frustration as he followed behind, awkwardly shuffling behind you, using you as cover to hide his hard on.

You didn't reply, only sent him a sly wink before greeting Finn with a hug. "Hey Finn!"

"Hey sparky! Been a while hasn't it?"

"Well you're practically off with Poe everyday, I barely see you guys! Rey, you included!" You laugh as Rey pulls you into a soft hug, hands rubbing up and down your back.

"I know! But at least we've got today!" Rey winks, well at least tries to secretively wink at you but fails, resulting in Finn steering Poe towards the bar. Finn secretively whispering something in Poe's ears made you look at him curiously.

"C'mon Y/N. He's been fussy the minute he stepped off his X-Wing." Rey complained as she hooked her arm into yours, following Finn and Poe at a distance, giving them some sort of privacy.

"Tell me about it. I accidentally said one thing and next thing you know, he can't keep it in his pants!" You whispered to Rey.

"Gosh, I don't know how you put up with him!"

You sigh and let out a soft smile in content, neither do you to be honest, but you wouldn't trade him for anything else in the world. He was yours to keep, and you were his. "Neither do I Rey, but I wouldn't trade it for anything else."

The party was in full swing, Poe was mildly surprised that his friends has thrown him a party for his birthday considering the importance of the mission that they had just had, but he was pleased to be with them nonetheless. Although, he was disappointed, you had been avoiding him the entire night which only made him wonder what on earth had you planned for him?

After a while of searching for you, receiving congratulations and birthday blessings, and the occasional drunk kiss from Finn, you had ended up finding him. "Hey birthday boy!" You greeted, sliding up behind him as you planted a sloppy kiss on his cheek, your arms wrapped around him as you placed your chin on his shoulder.

"Hey sweet girl, I've been looking for you everywhere." Poe turned in your arms as he cupped your face. "You've been slippery all day, haven't even had the chance to kiss you."

"Is that so?"

Poe only nods as he spies Finn and Rey watching the two of you. "You know I love our friends, bu-"

"Are they coming over?" You smiled, eyes wide. Poe let out a small groan as she buried his head in your shoulder.

"Hey lovebirds!" Finn drunkenly spoke as he swayed around, Rey having to keep him steady. You simply raised an eye in concern at Finn before he giggled. "So when is the surprise happening? Or has it already happened?"

Rey immediately slapped a hand over Finns mouth as she looked apologetically at you, while BB8 bumped against your leg, bleeping rapidly.

"What surprise?" Poe looked at your curiosity, his hand squeezing your side, almost hinting he knew what it was.

"Nothing! There's no surprise!" You squealed as you pulled away from Poe, letting out a small laugh as you tumbled into Rey.

"Y/N, tell him.." Rey nudged you, while Finn sent a wink Poes' way, which looked oddly strange while BB-8 whirred at Poe secretively.

"BB-8! What are you telling him?!" You abruptly pulled yourself together as you turned on your shared droid who only beeped mischievously, head rolling around looking between you and Poe.

"He said you have a surprise for me and it involves our X-Wings...?" Poe treaded carefully, a smirked etched onto his face as he watched for your reaction.

"It was a surprise." You rolled your eyes at BB-8. "C'mon Dameron, lemme show you what it is." You marched ahead, not waiting to check if Poe was following or not.

Much to Poe's disappointment, the two of had gotten in your X-Wings and were heading to a random planet where your surprise was. It wasn't really much of a plan but you wanted to spend some time with Poe away from your jobs, the resistance, even if was just for a short period of time - and you had the idea of proposing to him. It may have seen like a sudden move for the two of you, but with the war raging on, you couldn't help but want to tie the knot with Poe. Having him as your husband sent a warm feeling down your spine, you hoped he only felt the same.

"Black Leader, see that smaller island there?" You spoke through your comms.

"Oh so are we back to codenames now?" Poe teased through the comms.

You rolled your eyes as you ignored him and began descent, lowering your X-Wing getting ready for the surprise.

"Is this my surprise?" Poe asked genuinely curious as to why you had brought him here.

"You'll see Dameron."

After getting out of your X-Wings, you guided Poe to a hilltop, overlooking the night seas as he cuddled into you. There was a small picnic, covered with food ranging from Naboos sweetest delicacies, to Coruscants' meaty food. The bottle of Correlian whiskey caught Poe's eye as he knew of difficult it was to get a hold of and you did. Poe's eyes widened in surprise as he looked at the small setup.

"Happy Birthday sweetheart!" You smiled as you shyly glanced at his expression.

"Y/N... sparky, you didn't have to go to all this trouble for me..." Poe whispered in happiness as he pulled you into a hug. His eyes watering slowly as he sniffed away the tears.

"I did. You deserve the world Poe." You smiled.

You watched as Poe pulled away from you, his eyes watching your soft expression as he cupped your face, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead before dropping to one knee, his hand shuffling around in his pocket as he pulled out a small box. Your eyes began to water as you watched the love of your life stumble on his words.

"Sparky... Y/N... I... I've had this ring with me for the past few weeks ... well my entire life." Poe let out a small smile as he opens the case, revealing the ring, his mother's ring. The one he always kept on a necklace around his neck.

"Poe.." You gasped, covering your mouth as the tears slipped out your eyes.

"My mother gave me her ring before she passed. I never saw her after the battle on Naboo, this is the last reminder I have of her. She was a strong, courageous woman and I wish you would have met her. She would have loved you." Poe lets out little sniff, causing you to fall to the ground in front of him, holding his hands in yours as he smiles before he continues.

"I swore that I would always give this to the person who meant the most to me, who I shared that love with."

"So Y/N L/N, will you marry me?"

"Yes! Yes yes yes, a million times yes Poe!" He pulled your towards him, kissing your lips roughly as he cradled your body in his arms, both your faces filled with salty tears as he pulled away and slipped the ring on your finger. He leaned back against the tree, his arms wrapped around your body as your head slipped to his chest, your ring hand laying on his chest, just where his heart is.

"Poe?"

"Mmmh, yes sweetheart?"

You shuffled around in your space as you fished out the little box you had hidden. "I was going to propose to you today, but it seemed you beat me to it."

Poe let out a belly laugh, chest rumbling as his lips instantly found their way to your cheek. "What did ya expect? I'm the best pilot in the galaxy! Of course I'd do it first!" He laughed as you slipped the ring on his finger.

"Second best. I think you've missed a key word." You teased.

"Oh yeah? You think so?"

"Mmh I know so..." You smirked.

Poe let out a little huff before rapidly flipping you onto the ground, his hands holding your wrists above your head as he hovered over you, his warm breath touching your face.

"Why don't I show you instead?"

Working on the Sequels Rewrite I've been blabbering about all this while.

I'm so excited to get this first chapter done and ask a beta reader to read it. I already have one willing reader;; I'm very motivated to do this thing thanks to her;;;;

I'm pausing for now though hahahah I need to sleep and try waking up early tomorrow. ;;;
