when it comes to making friends, glenn’s never been the best at it. he’s shy and quiet, usually sticking by his mother or older sister grace’s side. so when he first started school, he was all alone. everyone seemed to have a friend group they could slip into, but glenn struggled and usually went by unnoticed. which he was fine with, it meant he could keep to himself and focus on playing / working. that was until liv came in halfway through the school year, she was assigned the seat right beside glenn and the pair quickly became fast friends. she was the total opposite of glenn, she was loud and outspoken, always wanting to go on crazy adventures or do things that were way out of glenn’s comfort zone. they were practically inseparable, would always spend their weekends together or talk on walkie-talkies. ( since their houses were across the street from each other and in perfect range. glenn got them for christmas one year and as soon as he was able to he was at olivia’s and gifting the other one to her. ) everything was going great, right up until they started middle school. then everything changed. olivia joined the popular crowd and glenn didn’t fit in. she would say hi whenever seeing him in the halls or across the street, but glenn’s best friend quickly became an acquaintance. olivia and her family moved away just before sophmore year and glenn never did get to say goodbye — or find out why she left. there were rumors going round, but glenn didn’t want to listen to them. ultimately the reason olivia and her family left was because she fell pregnant— something glenn had heard as a rumor, but didn’t want to believe.
