my last tumblr post before today was on the 5th anniversary of alan rickman’s passing and now i’m heartbroken again by the news of helen mcrory’s death
this was and will remain as one of my favourite pictures ever taken of both of them and now it has even more heartbreaking meaning

At this point I think the people who still consider Jaime a disgusting arrogant villain are the people who also hate Snape with fiery passion and still consider him irredeemable .
I say I rant about Harry Potter, but really I just give the same three rants over and over to different people: -- 1. The 'reasons the books were better than the movies' rant -- 2. The 'Hufflepuffs aren't lame' rant (with examples) -- 3. The 'Snape was a creepy jerk not a misunderstood hero' rant (which is often accompanied by the 'James Potter was a good person because he genuinely changed' mini-rant) -- As a bonus, if I specifically hear Slytherin hate, I'll jump in with the 'not all Slytherins are evil / not all evil wixen are Slytherins' rant. That's about it.
I'm currently reading the last book of Harry Potter, i.e. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Even though I'm at the twelfth chapter, I turned the pages to the thirty-third chapter just to read "The Prince's Tale" and later the epilogue.
I just couldn't wait to read them that I skipped a couple of lot chapters. Now that I've read them, I'm at peace and will complete reading the book at a normal pace. Maybe even at a slow pace.
(February 21, 1946 - January 14, 2016) Alan Rickman was one of the talents I had always hoped to work with someday. As Severus Snape he was my not so secret crush for many years, and his unforgettable voice and uniquely handsome face always captured my attention in any role that he took on. It's a tragedy that he passed so young and so suddenly. I'm thankful he left such an enormous and excellent body of work that admirers like me can cherish long after his passing.
