May or may not have whipped this up a bit ago purely cause I realized I didn't have any current images of K or David when I wanted to post a thing on my instagram story with songs relating to each character (Icarus by Emma Blackery for K [with someone telling him this when he's young] and King by Lauren Aquilina for David [where he'd be the one telling this sentiment to someone else]) and boy did I speedrun this at 2.5 hours

Not much to say otherwise, as for the Soular Flare timeline this would take place somewhere between the accident where K and David got their powers (the colored glasses being a telltale sign) and before Everything Went Wrong (we don't see them together after that....)

The solidarity between David and Hartro is just. So lovely. I know the friendship itself isn't fully developed in canon but the moment they started getting along my brain took it and ran at the class solidarity of them both having the same resentment towards Trexel and his ignorance, and just!! Bonding over their mutual frustration at their place in the system. Like, Hartro's 'made it' but she's still just as expendable as David 7 and that knowledge exactly is why she ends up sympathising with him and his goals.

Part 2 of me continuing to do the assignment slightly wrong but I'm committed.

Anyway, last time we had the "Soldier" Adie and now we get the "Poet" David Alvarez, I love this man very dearly even though he's only around for maybe a 3rd, if that, of Soular Flare's total story. Depending on how I edit the final draft he might even be already gone when it starts 😅

I do love him so though, so he's got a whole narrative dedicated to his backstory and how he ended up in a rather out of character position for who he is. It never gets brought up in the main storyline so it got cut from Soular Flare. He also got a story post-mortem cause anyone with a glowing item on them (like his glasses) doesnt actually "die" per se and can be revived and I have a long running joke of describing David as "The perfect protagonist who never got to be one" so I figured I'd let him be the protag in another story, why not 💙

If i had a nickle for everytime a character from a sci-fi themed podcast tried replacing a machine's noise with a terrible voice impression and then immediately denied doing just that, I'd have two nickles. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice
