not setting intention (accidental shifts are very real)
being “too early” in your journey
being “too late” in your journey
anything to do with time. because time isn’t real
growing resentment toward shifting
the number of times you tried but didn’t successfully shift (it only has to work once)
giving up
i could go on & onnnnnnn because the bottom line is. there is no world where it will never happen because it’s happening to everyone. nothing can stop you because shifting is inevitable ☆゚・
me going to school as a regular student as if im not a princess, faerie, waterbender, witch, pirate, pop idol, superhero, time traveller, magical girl, mermaid, victorian aristocrat, small town farmer, ballerina, wandering adventurer etc in other realities.
I'm a completely different person in my DRs but one of the things that's the same in every reality is my birthday! (Year still varies.) I don't see the need to change it because idk. I like that I was born in October. :)c
hey so ive been a follower for a while and we’ve talked alot in your inbox but i just started my own blog and general advice would be appreciated cus im clueless
omg hi !! CONGRATS ON STARTING A BLOG
listen, for all the flack i give shiftblr drama and similar nonsensical stuff that has happened on here, i truly love my blog and it’s one of the best decisions i ever made and i hope you enjoy yours and make it a safe space for you first and foremost
okay so !! here’s some tips i wish id had when i first started out:
— ABUSE THE FUCK OUT OF YOUR DRAFTS
you’re gonna have this urge to post everything and get it all out there and that will stress you out — my advice is to actually use your drafts for their purpose
as i’m typing this, i’ve saved the response as a draft in case i don’t get to finishing it
also, tumblr glitches sometimes so if it’s a major post, have it drafted in your notes app as well or notion or smth
yes drafts can get backlogged, i struggle from that, but im still on team at-least-the-words-are-out-of-your-head-and-written-somewhere
— blog themes
you don’t have to stick to one
i know that sounds ironic coming from a notoriously consistent blog theme person (i have literally never changed my blog theme)
but hey, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it
but that’s besides the point — i’m doing me, and if you love your theme, stick to it, don’t feel pressured to change
but if you’re the indecisive type, don’t worry abt what people will think with constant changes
it’s YOUR blog, not anyone else’s
— tags TAGS
tags are so important, i mentioned offhandedly one time how much i hate tumblr tagging system and just their database filters entirely but that’s not the point rn
pick your tags, pick ones that seem nice to you and fit your vibe
decide what you wanna use them for
i have a tag for just odd rambles and responses (chaai chats) or when i’m reblogging/responding/supporting moots (chaai loves » [moots name] ✿)
tags for specific s/o’s, my ship names with them, things i love to post and want to find again like edits or moodboards or tag games, like that
— pinned post
draft your pinned post and also draft up masterlist for things you’d like to post and have a hub for
again, ironic, bcs i haven’t updated my masterlist in six months (ILL GET THERE I SWEAR LEAVE ME ALONE) but yeah it’s just good to plan that out
and you can add all your main tags in the pinned post so you can just click there when you wanna filter
— don’t pressure yourself to post
i’ve noticed shiftblr can feel like a job, like a performance, you wanna be innovative, be the next big blog, be The One people go to for advice or inspiration
that’s all well and good bcs that’s to be expected
don’t do it for that reason tho
everyone falls into that trap at some point
it’s not worth it
build a community, find friends, find anons that brighten your day, create posts that YOU wanna come back to, ignore the numbers as hard as it is
this isn’t a performance, there’s no prize at the end of it, post what you wanna post, when you wanna post, and the right audience WILL find you
i hate that tumblr has updated its notes counter to show specific numbers just bcs it starts warping the creativity into a competition
dont do that to yourself
— making friends
reach out !! not in ways that come off as really forward ofcs but just in genuine kind ways
if someone posts something you find really interesting, reblog with a nice comment
or even just comment smth nice
if you like a post idea someone made, take inspiration and make your own post, and important, tag them in your post to give them credit!! just say “ib/inspired by: @(blog name)” maybe even link their post so other people can find it !!
when you find tag games with open tags, join in and tag whatever shiftblr friends you have
if someone has a dr that’s the same as yours you guys can share inspo !! send each other motivation!! don’t hesitate to tag people in posts that remind you of them !! it’s just a cute little nice gesture
like for example, if i see a bunny, im tagging one of my moots (miss tiffany aka bunniedior) bcs thats her, unequivocally
i know it can be daunting to make friends, but it’s really as simple as just “hey @(blog name) this is so you”
— agree to disagree
not every shiftblr blog or loa blog is gonna have the same opinions
some of them will believe in the concept in a different way
that’s okay
you’re not here to police anybody and neither should you put yourself in a position where someone feels the need to police you
just ignore
like you ignore the 3d
just scroll, let them have their own corner of the internet to themselves, and let yourself enjoy yours
don’t go looking for trouble bcs . really? here?? this is tumblr.
— don’t compare yourself (even with yourself)
you make a blog to help people, chances are you’re going to
and that means on the days where YOU don’t feel your best, you’re gonna get that imposter syndrome of “hey i’ve helped people, i’ve given advice, i’ve instilled confidence, why do i feel like shit?”
don’t do that, don’t go down that spiral
every day is a new day (literally a new reality imo)
it’s ok if you don’t feel as successful as the you that runs this blog, don’t take every success and amount of progress you’ve made and try to condense it into one moment of stagnation
that’s literally the worst thing you could do for yourself
my philosophy: you’ve done it before? you can do it again.
.
.
.
i hope i could be of some help in any small way bcs genuinely, congrats on the blog !! i know it might have been a bit of a nerve wracking idea to follow through with, but i truly truly hope it’s a rewarding experience for you !! good luck babes xx
i remembered reality is whatever I want it to be so i made it so that in my dr, every day is 28 hours not 24 hours and there's 2 extra months in a year making it so that there's exactly 426 days in a year
now all the days and the years are longer and i get more time to enjoy my dr as much as i want
Originally, I was actually so conflicted to script in this part of his career because I don't hear Yoongi singing often. But then I was like ??? It's okay, it'll suit him, I influence his music style and he influences mine, takes one to know one.
Ms. Lauryn Hill was really a primary inspiration for the recreation of DAWN. Taking note of her concept album of re-educating oneself in love, he brings on this theme with cathartic yearning and hope.
No, really I just wanted an album about me, most of my love songs are about this man.
The writer for almost all of the tracks is Yoongi. He truly means what he sings.
Yoongi took 7 years to create the album. Breaks and life happening in between, which influenced a lot of the tracks writing... one of the oldest songs from the album was written when he was, around, 20 years old. (Right after our break-up).
He samples You Got It All by The Jets on 4th track, Letter (편지). One of the songs I introduced to him back in high school.
He samples FUCKING Star Wars dialogue for DAWN's closing track, Eurydice.
