𝓘t's nothing special to look at. a hemp bag that i bought while at the mall with lorelai and rory in 2001. yes, i have other bags. yes, it's been three years. yes, i should probably clean it out. no, i will not stop wearing it.

⟢i've had this bag since i was 16. it's gone to chilton. it's gone to grandma and grandpa's house (not without some degrading comments coming it's way, however). it's been used as a self defense weapon and lunged at people. it's been all around stars hollow. it's been in lane's bedroom. it's been in rory's bedroom. it's been to luke's. in luke's upstairs apartment (while i was making out with jess). it's gone to boston. it's gone to europe. it came to yale with me. it's been stuffed to the brim with books, textbooks, journals, notebooks, pencil cases, candy, you name it. yet it has never gave out on me. not a rip in all these years. and for that i salute it.

⟢my david bowie pin (my favorite) was found at a flea market, while i was going through a bucket of button pins for sale. the needle got caught in finger. i wouldn't have found it in that 3 foot deep bucket otherwise. i'd shed blood for bowie any day!!

⟢my jim morrison pin. i have a lot of mixed feelings about that guy. he was a lunatic, but an artistic genius. the doors has amazing music, hence, his spot on my bag.

⟢my green apple and cherry blossom mirror keychains, could honestly be considered my prized possessions. the cherry blossom one was originally rory's, but she left it unattended. it somehow grew legs and made it's way onto my purse.

⟢my ladybug clock keychain, i got it because i am horrible at keeping track of time. three hours could go by and i would think it's only been thirty minutes.

⟢and yes, i do always have to take these off before friday night dinners.

⟢littered with candy wrappers, receipts, and pens that have gone missing. also contains weird candy that i'm too scared to eat but am also saving in case i ever get really hungry.

⟢my keys, with a darth vader lego key chain on it. some kid left it behind on a lunch table at yale. it's not stealing if i found it!!

⟢my iPod. literally cannot survive without it. i once accidentally left it back home after visiting from yale over the weekend, and i was too busy with studying and tests to drive back to get it, and my mom and dad were too busy to drive over just to give it to me. i was having physical signs of withdrawal for a week.

⟢my foldable comb, for brushing my bangs when they get messy

⟢hair ties that i do not use

⟢bobby pins and hair clips for pinning my bangs back, which i usually never do, hence my lack of use

⟢chapstick because these lips get as dry as cracked earth

⟢extra pens because i'm always losing them, or people who "borrow" them in class never give them back.

⟢aspirin because paris gives me headaches.

⟢my phone charger. i go days without charging my phone, and it dies on me mid calls or just at the most inconvenient times, so i've gotten into the habit of carrying it around with me.

⟢candy because i'm hungry all the time!!!

⟢the stranger by albert camus. i finished reading it three months ago and it is still in there.

⟢white noise by don delillo. same situation as previous book.

⟢the secret history by donna tartt. yes, i've already read it, except i keep it in my bag all the time because it is simply the most spectacular piece of media i have ever consumed and i will reread it as many times as i can even if it's the death of me.

⟢a beat up journal with a very folded leather cover, yet surprisingly sturdy even though it's ten times thicker than when i first bought it.

⟢a digital camera because i love taking pictures of unsuspecting people and scaring them. just kidding i just like taking candid photos of my friends. but it's pretty much the same thing isn't it?
