What are your opinions on ascended Astarion?

I have mixed feelings about Ascended Astarion tbh. I adore Astarion in all forms, I love how cringe and annoying he is as the Vampire Ascendent, but that's about it when it comes to that version of him. OH! And the lip bite kiss! I love that animation.

But yeah, I think it's a completely valid route to ascend Astarion, I don't think there's a right way or a wrong way to play his story line, so long as you're having fun, but I personally don't think I could ever ascend him. It makes for a really interesting story, and I love the way Neil plays him, but spawn Astarion and his growth and kindness will always hold my heart.

I LOVE the different ways people interpret Ascended Astarion for their fics and stuff (One of my faves being @arzen9's "Can I Be Good" series), but when it comes to the actual game, he's just not the goofy Astarion I love to picture in my head and write about. Again, no hate! I adore Astarion in all forms! And think that Ascended Astarion is EXTREMELY interesting as a character. He's just not for me!

[Soil Anon watches in horror as their husband melts away. They choke back sobs, cupping Flower Anon's head with both their hands. They pull their sunglasses up to look into their eyes, feeling tears overflow and spill down their cheeks.]

[They force themself to watch Flower Anon melt away, holding on tot heir withering remains as if nothing else in the world could ever mean anything more than this.]

[And to them.. that was true. What else would Soil do without their husband? What is there to do, even? They cant even bother to get angry at Angel Anon when Flower Anon is completely gone.]

[They just sit on their knees clutching the sandy remains of their once-husband, tears streaming down their face uncontrollably.]
