Melkor is so cute, it's scary to look at ^O^
I wonder how the silmarils would look while depicted in live action, and how they'd make them look more beautiful, unique and magical than other legendary treasures like The Arkenstone and the Phial of Galadriel
dis guy i think after a few years im starting to remember all the stuff that happened in the silm
Oxonmoot - Still Time to Get Virtual Registration!
I'll be at Oxonmoot (Virtually) this weekend!
I'm hosting or cohosting three different fanfiction panels!
Writing to the Word Count, which is how to keep word counts within certain parameters for fandom events/challenges and how to plot things out without panic or procrastination; it's also a helpful session for anyone who hasn't run a fandom exchange/gifting/big bang event and wants to try in the future
Make 'Em Laugh, the 'audience choice' selection for this year's poll I put out there on Tumblr several months ago. I'll explain fifteen different types of humor, read some excerpts for examples, and then there's a little workshop time to write humor and share
I <3 Fandom: Fanfiction -- A new series! I've been doing the above 'So You Want to Write Fanfiction?' sessions for a while, and this is a new, more casual series. These sessions are more roundtable discussion, with a middle part of quiet creative time, and sharing at the end. There's another in the series for Fan Art that will be hosted by @annellspethraven (but I'll be on the panel for that one, too!)
And then, what I'm considering my 'main event' this year.
I have written a 25+ page paper on the science of the silmarils. A serious consideration for how they could exist. My references are eight more pages, so you know this is some serious silmaril shit going on here. I am still surrounded by reference books and rocks, and I am very excited for this. I also have some new paper art I created for the presentation, and I touch on the light of the Two Trees and the three Elven rings as part of the presentation.
And that's just my contributions to the moot -- there are so many other panels and papers and fun things. It's by far the best hybrid convention or conference out there, and I did a lot of virtual and hybrid convention and conference going over the past five years. This one is fantastic, and it kicks off with a group watch of the second season of Rings of Power. Love it or hate it, there will be people to chat with from all around the world. (The craft challenge is star-based this year, so I'm very excited for that, too!)
So what are you doing this weekend? I'll be...probably wondering if Maglor's going to show up on my doorstep now that I have a theoretical recipe for Silmarils.

Legendarium by ralphdamiani
1. Sauron, the Deceiver
2. Feanor & Silmarilli
3. Umbar Armada
4. The White Flame (Earendil & Melkor)
5. The Vault
6. Iron of Death (Melkor, Tulkas, Turin Turambar)
It’s massively ironic that the one Silmaril still accounted for wound up in the hands of a descendant of Fingolfin
How spitting mad do you think Fëanor was when he found out?
