Fëanor and the Silmarills! Next drawing from the poll will be Finrod!

Feanor and Silmarilli...the light captured inside gems is of tree origin so I wanted to draw it spread like branches ♥ (it was only a doodle where I tried that light-spreading idea. But my sis saw it, liked it(I guess?), redrawn anatomy.... and made Feanor so good-looking that I had to finish it :D )

Mairon invent Materials

Mairon: Master Aulë, I come to show you my new invention! A new material hides deep in the earth!

Aulë: Mairon, what a wonderful idea! Please, show me.

Mairon: There is, I call it Uranium!

Aulë: Nice, what are their features?

Mairon: First of all, it's very aesthetic! It glows green in the dark. Second, it can be used to produce a lot of energy, and it has many uses in chemistry and physics applications.

Aulë: Wonderful! Your creations never disappoint me!

Mairon: Oh, now comes the best part... It's poisonous!

Aulë: ...I'm sorry, what?

Mairon: Yes! If you breathe their dust or use it for some sort of colour paint, or simply stay near to them for too much time, in your body starts to grow strange masses, which create a lot of problems and slowly kill you!

Aulë: ...Mairon, for the love of Eru, why?

Mairon: Oh, and that's not all! In the right condition, IT CAN EXPLODE!

Aulë: MAIRON NO!

I have so many THOUGHTS about this scene!

Elrond is probably thinking of his mother here, as many people have pointed out. Given the direction they seem to be going in the show, it looks like the Elwing theory they're going with (if they canonize any theory at all). Of course he is! He's on the edge of a cliff above the sea holding something he sees as an evil* and a danger to those around him. Behind him are armed people who would take it from him.

He jumps. It worked well enough for Elwing (despite the cost) and, even if he can't turn into a bird and escape, giving the evil thing to the sea worked well enough for another parental figure of his who shall remain nameless.

Galadriel and Gil-Galad are not thinking of Elwing at this moment. They're thinking, "We NEED those rings to save all elvendom and Elrond’s being paranoid."

The moment he jumps, however, the pieces slot together, and they must be KICKING themselves for not realizing it sooner. To the best of their knowledge, Elrond is dead! And it's all their fault!

@elswing suggested the theory that he'll wash up in the Grey Havens and be taken in by Círdan and I kind of love that theory. I mean, imagine, Elrond just chilling with grandpa Círdan for a few days/weeks recovering (there's no way he fell from THAT high without breaking SOMETHING). Meanwhile, Galadriel and Gil-Galad are grieving, wracked with guilt, and still trying to figure out what to do about the fading.

When Círdan comes to Mithlond with the rings and Elrond (looking like a kicked puppy) in tow, they're so relieved they forget to be mad.

*I headcanon that Elrond has some... unique views on the Silmarill. He remembers it very clearly as the painfully bright stone that obscured his mother's face and brought death to Sirion (maybe because he doesn't really blame any of his parents for what they did, but he needs to blame SOMEONE, so he blames the Silmarill itself) To him, both the rings and the Silmarills are tools of Morgoth and need to be either destroyed or lost forever.

Ok, absolutly bizarre au where the silmarills had already been filched from morgoth and were replaced by knock offs (but morgoth wasn’t gonna tell anyone that)

And the elves onky realize that after maedhros and maglor stile the stones successfully in the army camp after the war.

Idk, just seems like a delicious mind fuck.
