The Annual SimDependence Week Royal Horse Race Begins in Ophelia hosted by Grand Duke James and Lord Jackson
A most anticiapated event takes place today to celebrate SimDependence week: The Royal Horse Race. Each year, one country hosts the event and a Grand Duke or Duchess participates among other nobles and athletes. As SimDonia's national animal, horses are quite significant to our history and hearts, which is why all the proceeds from the race will go to a horse sanctuary.
As usual, we are delighted by Queen Diana's presence in the race. This is her first year back after taking a break from participating due to her pregnancies. As a skilled rider, we're always excited to watch the Queen perform with her champion horse, Sugarfoot. She's joined by the host of this year's match, Grand Dukes James, Diana's cousin, who is also quite experienced with riding.
Some notable figures in the stands include Grand Duchess Rosalina who supports her husband in today's game along with Lord Jackson who hosts the event on behalf of Parliament. Lord Jackson's sister, Ryan Brooks, is also competing.
Each rider takes their horse through a series of jumping challenges, then a race takes place to see who comes out on top. The friendly competition is quite popular, and tickets sell out within minutes each year. As always, all horses are treated humanely, and their performance here today supports other horses.
After a long day of racing, Queen Diana is our winner! But each rider knows they are supporting a great cause! The Queen poses for a photo with the Grand Duke and Duchess of Ophelia, Lord Jackson and Ryan Brooks.
Wishing you a Christmas full of treasured memories; even the ones that make you a little bit sad 🎄✨
AUTHOR’S NOTE: When I tell you this post was a labour of love. I mean it. The GIFs alone took me an entire night! But I really think all my hard work paid off because, damn, this might be my favourite storypost to date. This post takes place around twenty years into the future and there are so many hidden hints and spoilers and some pretty balant ones too. The first speaking lines of Millicent, Florence, Imogen, Thomasin, Athena. And a special foreign royal making a cameo? It just makes me so excited for where this story is headed next year.
Thank you all for reading, commenting, and reblogging. It means so much to me. Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you all!
[MIA] Oh, dear, Mom!
[KATHERYN] So, this is, what, the rehearsal? There has to be a better word for this
[MIA] But that’s exactly what it is. I suppose they want us to think about what to say beforehand. It’s a cute idea, stop picking it apart, you sound like Dad
[KATHERYN] I’m not picking anything apart, I just find it odd that we don’t even own our home vid—Oh! She fell over again
[IRENE] Maybe we should get a chair, sweetheart
[JAQUELINE] Noooo, I can do it myself [giggles]
[KATHERYN] It’s so odd seeing her as a beginner. I only ever remember her being an expert. Talented from birth. Don’t laugh, but I used to be jealous. Everything I attempt turns to ashes, it seems
[MIA] Kat. You’re not responsible for Drake’s actions
[KATHERYN] Yet, here I am suffering the consequences anyway—you know what? Let’s just focus on the video. You’re right, it’s cute
[PHILLIP] Look, Jill, this is the Christmas tree and on Christmas morning, there will be lots of presents from Santa Claus but only for the good kids
[KATHERINE] Phillip, darling, you are far too old to still believe such things
[THOMASIN] Oh, my God, that is so fucking rude. How did he live with these people?
[MILLICENT] See? See? That’s the type of shit you cannot be saying, but you just can’t help yourself, can you?
[THOMASIN] Whatever, they can edit it. And why did they ask us to do this if they don’t want our actual opinions?
[MILLICENT] You think they care about our actual opinions?
[THOMASIN] Not really, but the fantasy is nice. Keeps me going
[MILLICENT] Does the word narcissist mean anything to you?
[THOMASIN] Don’t worry I’ll control myself this time, but only because they’ll blame Mom if I don’t
[Phyllis] What’s wrong with believing in Santa? I do. And, for the record, he thinks you’ve been very good this year, Phillip
[MILLICENT] Look, there’s Aunt Phyllis
[THOMASIN] Aw, she’s always been a sweetie
[THOMASIN] See? At least there’s one person on our side
[MILLICENT] One or two
[IMOGEN] It’s—that’s, uh, adorable
[FLORENCE] Right? Grandmother would love it, I don’t know why she tried to shut this whole thing down
[IMOGEN] All the pic—pic—pho-to-graphs of Grandfather make her [—] make it hard for her
[FLORENCE] Yeah, but I feel like the holidays should make it better at least
[IRENE] What are you looking at, mister?
[JAMES] I was looking for snow, the weatherman said it would
[???] Is that you? Because he looks like you . . . Dad?
[ATHENA] Dad? I was asking you a question
[NICHOLAS] Hm? Oh, no, that’s not me
[ATHENA] What’s wrong?
[NICHOLAS] I don’t think I can do this anymore, Tungsten
[ATHENA] Why? Is the video upsetting you?
[ATHENA] Then maybe we can do it together. That way maybe you’ll be less sad. And not embarrassed and it will be okay
[NICHOLAS] Athena, that video is of your grandfather when he was around your age
[ATHENA] Oh . . . Are you missing him?
[IRENE] If you’d like you can pick one present to open tonight. How does that sound?
[JAMES] Ooh, yes, please! I want the big one with the blue bow, Phillip and Jack think it’s a new bike or a scooter or something
[NICHOLAS] I miss him every day, but especially now. I need his help, but he’s not here anymore
[ATHENA] It’s making me sad, and I’m afraid that I’m going to embarrass myself tomorrow
[ATHENA] . . . Why did he die?
[NICHOLAS] I don’t know. He was very sad
[ATHENA] But he looks happy in the video
[NICHOLAS] I know, I remember him being very happy, too
[ATHENA] Then maybe you should think of him being happy and you’ll be happy, too. I know This because right now you’re sad and it’s making me sad too
[NICHOLAS] I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you upset
[ATHENA] It’s okay, I forgive you
[ATHENA] And I forgive you if you don’t do the video. I just want you to have a merry Christmas, Daddy

THE KING AND QUEEN OF BURGUNDY PUT TO DEATH
As per the sentencing for their war crimes, King James and Queen Aubrey of Burgundy were brought to a wooden scaffold in the city center of Britechester, Brixton. Thousands came to watch the one of the most significant and controversial regicides in all of history.
The Royal Family of Great Brixton were accompanied by Edward and Lena, the former Crown Prince of Burgundy and his sister, the former Princess of Burgundy. A few royals from around the Simtinent came as well, including:
King Maxwell and Queen Consort Morgan of the Winden Territories, Queen Lucy of Fandolin, Queen Helena of Monaca, the Marquess and Marchioness of Sudeley, and Crown Prince Richard of Carrington.
The King and Queen of Burgundy were asked for their final words. King James nodded to King Harry and said, “You’ll regret making me a martyr, Harry.” While Queen Aubrey held back tears and whispered, “I love my children. Tell them I love them, please.”
Diana's Voice: You are recieving this correspondence because as a Senior Members of the Royal Family, your duty to your country is very important. The significance your role plays within this family and beyond does not go unnoticed.
Diana's Voice: As your Queen, my duty is to ensure we are reaching our full potential to do our part for SimDonia and it's citizens. Which is why I'm implementing new guidelines for all members of the SimDonian Royal Family. Please see the following.
Diana's Voice: The security of our family is of the utmost importance. We will be increasing the number of security guards for all members of the family. No one is permitted to waive security detail at this time.
Diana's Voice: There is now a minimum requirement on number of engagements. Each member will be assigned a number to strive for. This number will be set by the Soverign Office and Monarch Advisory Board.
Diana's Voice: Each year, every member must attend at least two Parliament sessions for their State. Attending these sessions do not fulfill engagement requirements.
Diana's Voice: It's critical that our family shows a committment to our Faith. As Head of the Jacoban Church, I'm expecting every member to attend services at least twice a month. This does not fulfill engagement requirements.
Diana's Voice: A proper education is essential for young family members as they learn how to continue the family legacy. A new and more robust Regal Excellency Curriculum has been put in place. New highly-quailified tutors will be assigned to all families with school-aged children replacing previous tutors and curriculums.
Diana's Voice: As for young family members, we want them to enter, not only the family, but the Institution that upholds our legacy. To do so, new parents will be required to present the new baby to the Monarch at Willington Palace. A small ceremony including the Trilogy of Praise will be anointed onto the child by an Eye of Jacob. The child's Watcher's Guides may also be present.
Diana's Voice: Before I continue, I believe it's important for me to inform you that enforcement of these new procedures will be strict. Violations will result in a fine to your Duchy's treasury which is public record. This is not to be seen as a punishment, but incentive to do your part for your family and country.
Diana's Voice - Each family will meet quarterly with the Monarch Advisor, Lydia Johnston. Lydia is well-versed in not only our monarchy's history, but monarchies across the simverse. Her role is to ensure the SimDonia Monarchy operates to the best of its ability.
Diana's Voice: As you all know, appearance plays a major role in our work, especially for female members. We are officially implementing a formal dress code and each family will be assigned a stylist to help everyone adhere to the new code.
Diana's Voice: Being a healthy and strong Royal Family sends a message to the world. To ensure every member is in good health, regular health screenings and evaluations will begin taking place.
Diana's Voice: I trust that everyone will see this as a new beginning to a long and bright future for our family and the country we love and serve. One SimDonia United.
