Emotions are like a playlist stuck on
a shuffling repeat. Some are a sweet
symphony, reminding you of the joys in life.
Others are a bitter song, pulling
memories from the past to remind
you what pain is.
The difference between music and emotions
is you can turn music up or down
while emotions are stuck on
full volume. They are an ever
present reminder that we are
only humans.
Being only human, we can orchestrate
and imbibe our emotions if we only
try. Staring at a blank staff,
an out of tune instrument, is the
equivalent to letting your emotions
gain full access to you.
Some of the best symphonies are
inspired by love's eternal duet, by
the song a broken heart sings
when the bleeding stops choking
it. Music has become the new
way of expressing us.
Our deep depression, our boiling
rage. The bittersweet memories
of the past come rushing forward
like a child starving comes to
food at the sound of one
word. Hope.
Listen to the emotions that music
convey. A cry for help. A
celebration. An outlet for our
pain instead of letting it leak
from our bodies like water
leaks from a faucet.
Without music, there would be no
life. No hope. No reminder that
we are only human. Blood is
what flows through our veins,
but music is the life blood of
our souls.
Emotions are a playlist stuck on
a shuffling repeat. Some are a
sweet symphony, reminding you of the
joys in life. Others are a bitter song,
pulling memories from the past
to remind us we are only human.
A piano, a guitar, a violin, can
all be tuned. Broken strings
can be replaced. But when life
tries to un-tune our hearts, if
it succeeds, there is no
tunement or replacement.
Some of us willingly participate
in the cacophony of Life's
symphony, but the rest of us
find any reason and excuse to
escape the out-of-tune notes.
These are the artists.
The artists have the ability
to change the score. Authors,
sculptors, painters, artists. They
all play a new sound in life.
And only a few members can
harbor this talent.
Emotions are a playlist stuck on a
shuffling repeat. Some are a sweet symphony,
reminding you of the joys in life. Others
are a bitter song, pulling memories
from the past to remind us we are
only human.

Here is the second poem. This one came shortly after the first while I was listening to some intense orchestra music that nearly made me cry and I realized how powerful music is.
