Round 1 — Match 57 / 77 — Minthara Baenre vs. Sinda
Nightwarden Minthara Baenre is a recruitable Companion who can be romanced by characters of any gender. She is a Lolth-Sworn Drow and an Oath of Vengeance Paladin with the Noble background. Ruthless in service of the Absolute, she commands a camp of goblins planning an attack on the Emerald Grove in the name of their god. Initially hostile, she can be re-encountered during Act Two and saved from execution.
"she's weirdly honest?? like once she’s on your side she isn’t doing the fake-friendly stuff, she’s just “this is what i want, this is what i respect, this is what i will do if you cross me.” it’s refreshing!! also i love that she’s scary AND you can still catch these little moments where she’s basically going “i can’t believe people live like this” about surface customs"
"minthara is one of my favourite “choices matter” characters because she’s not designed to be universally accessible or universally agreeable. She’s the consequence of a particular path, and once she’s in your party she doesn’t soften into a generic teammate.
she’s still sharp, still ruthless, still deeply allergic to sentimentality. But she’s also… fascinatingly principled in her own way? She respects strength, she respects clarity, she respects you actually committing to something instead of wobbling around hoping everyone likes you.
And I’m sorry, the deadpan delivery kills me."
Sister Sinda is an Undead Nurse who works at the House of Healing during Act Two.
"i can’t lie, i respect the commitment. if i died and woke up undead i would not be clocking in to Reception. she did. Icon."
