I have been away for a few weeks travelling, and when I got back these carrots looked like "death became them". 😶 they were soft, withered, blackened, and severely dehydrated. Last night before we went to bed, I figured I would make one last ditch effort to revive them before tossing them to the compost pile. This is what we meet this morning! The parts emerged in water have returned to their firmer, orange colored selves. They are ready to be chopped up and added to my salad! I am going to turn them to see if the tips fatten up before lunch. Death trail is a little cleaner! It has been 2 to 3 weeks since I cam out and cleaned up the trash. It seems others are collecting the trash and putting it in one spot for clean up. Another area seemed to be items belonging to those staying in the canyon. This is progress. Before I would have to walk along the trail to gather the trash. First there is significantly less trash. Secondly, the trash is gathered. Two weeks later, and the tomato plants have taken over! There are blossoms everywhere, and I am not skilled enough to gently move the tomatoes plant back. The lemon plant is also putting out more blossoms! I hope they make it through winter. Today we are repotting a peace Lilly from one of our rooms. Poor baby looks like it is on its last leg. We are going to try to nurture it back to good health. We may bring it to the dining room so we can talk to it.
