I’ve got a personal hc that the traditional colour for mourning in Ylisse is red, and all the future kids have something…
indivigilantes
hi it’s part 2 where I draw the robins all grown up plus a few extras (everyone say hi babs terry and cass)
It’s my final art piece for this year’s @batfam-big-bang (and ironically the first I completed)! This is for the brilliant @llisona and her fic “Parallel Existence”, featuring siblings Cass and Jason! That concept always makes me bounce off the walls so I was so excited to work on it!
Go check out the other art made for this piece by @dragonpyre it’s sooo goood
[Image ID: A digital art piece of Dick Grayson (Nightwing) and Cassandra Cain (Black Bat) swinging between the buildings of Gotham City. The skyscrapers surround the entire image, reaching towards a blank circle in the night sky, where the Batsignal shines. The ghost of Jason Todd, grinning and wearing his Robin costume, flies after the other two, the bat shape of the signal almost forming wings behind him. /end ID]
Other versions under cut ⬇️
Happy @batfam-big-bang everyone! First piece of the event I get to post!
This is a companion to @cornflowerbluewrites’ work “Not So Far As The Forest”, and is inspired by this scene of the story:
There is something in Superman’s voice that draws Tim up short.
Because there is something different about his tone now, something tinged with desperation and sadness. Like a person in the middle of the ocean grasping frantically at a life raft that continues to remain just out of their grip, a person who knows if they do not grab onto a floatation device soon, their head will slip beneath the waves. Like Tim is a red and white liferaft and Superman has made several attempts to grab onto it.
Like for the first time in the whole conversation, a little bit of Clark Kent has slipped through.
And Clark Kent is grieving.
[image ID: A digital art piece of Superman and Tim Drake, in his Red Robin uniform, on a rooftop. The sun sets behind them, light shining through a gap between the buildings. Superman hovers just above the roof, fists clenched and face turned away with a pained expression, while Tim looks up to and argues with him. /end ID]
(closeups and characterless background version under the cut!)
and for my next @batfam-big-bang trick, a piece for @fandomfive39’s fic “Epic Rap Battles of History: Orphans versus Aliens”. It’s a pacific rim fusion and it SLAPS, go read it!!
[Image ID: a two-page comic for a DC/Pacific Rim AU. page 1. In the first panel, a textbox with the Green Lantern symbol reads "Shit--". Bruce Wayne walks into the room, followed by Tim Drake, Cassandra Cain, Stephanie Brown and Dick Grayson, all wearing matching leather jackets. In the second panel, Hal Jordan, leaning on one arm and wearing his flight jacket continues speaking, saying "all the bats are here." Oliver Queen, in a green bomber jacket, replies "the bats?". The third panel depicts Ollie and Hal from behind, watching Bruce and the others walk past. The back of Ollie's jacket depicts a styilised bow with the bowstring reading the name of his Jaeger, "Quiver Emerald". Hal's jacket has his surname "Jordan" with the Green Lantern symbol underneath. Hal says "Wayne's battalion rangers. Don't know why he felt the need to bring them all…". His word balloons cover the faces of the bats. Panel four is the same as panel two, now with a hulking shadow with glowing eyes and a shock of white hair looming behind Hal and Ollie, both startled by their sudden appearance. The shadow says "that's because he didn't.", while Ollie whispers "oh f--". page 2. A closeup of the lower part of someone's face, mouth curled into a grin. "Gotham's never unprotected." they say. Panel two reveals this to be Jason Todd, also wearing a leather jacket to match the others. He leans in, hands on Hal and Ollie's shoulders. "There's always more where we came from." Panel three shows Jason walking away, hands in his pockets. The back of his jacket is emblazoned with a black bat symbol, outlined in yellow. Panel four has a closeup of Hal and Ollie side-eyeing each other. Ollie's words are split into three balloons- "The battalion rangers?" "That's what the nickname is for?" "Everyone here is battalion." Hal looks tired as he replies "It's not because they're battalion rangers…" His sentence trails off, completed in the bottom right corner of the page. "it's because they're batshit crazy." /end ID]
Phew that was a lot! This scene isn’t in chapter 1, so think of this as a sneak peek for later! hehe
