The recording room smelled like coffee and sweat, the low hum of equipment settling into silence as Minseo cut the track.
“Again from the bridge,” she said gently, tapping the glass. “Breathe into it.”
Seonhyeon nodded, shuffling back into position. James was whispering something to Martin, while Juhoon was rolling his shoulders loose, trying to relax. Seungmin and Keonho had stepped out minutes ago to grab snacks.
The door opened casually.
Minseo's gaze hardened as she fell on him, her fingers curling around her pen like it might anchor her.
Heeseung stood in the doorway, taller than her memory, older in ways she hadn’t prepared for. Same eyes. Same blood.
“Minseo,” he said, like the name was still his to use.
The room went quiet.
“…You shouldn’t be here,” she replied, voice clipped and even. Too even. “This is a closed session. Please leave.”
Heeseung scoffed, stepping in anyway. “So this is what you’re doing now? Playing idol, hanging around trash companies and low-level trainers?”
A beat passed.
Then another.
“You should watch how you talk,” she said, voice raising just a notch.
He ignored it. “And dating that guy? The one from—what is it?—Stray Kids?” He laughed under his breath. “You really fell that far?”
Minseo's jaw tightened, her grip on the pen now deahtlhy.
“You’re embarrassing yourself,” she said. “I asked you to leave.”
“And calling him your brother?” Heeseung’s voice sharpened. “You tell the world Minho’s your family when I’m right here. Your real brother.”
Something inside her cracked, hairline at first.
“You don’t get to say that,” she muttered under her breath.
Heeseung opened his mouth again. “You always did surround yourself with worthless people. Looks like nothing’s changed--”
The door opened again, harder this time.
Seungmin stepped in, coffee trays balanced carefully in his hands. He took in the room in one glance--Minseo’s rigid posture, Heeseung frozen in an insult, the trainees standing like they were guilty of tresspassing.
He set the trays down quietly.
“Min,” he said gently, a hand curling around her waist. It wasn't there to control. Rather, it was there to hold. To comfort.
“Breathe, yeah?”
That was it.
Minseo laughed once and finally turned fully toward Heeseung.
“No. You don’t get to talk about him. Or them. Or my life.”
Her voice started steady, but it climbed with every word.
“He was there when you weren’t,” she said, pointing toward her boyfriend.
“He comforted me when you didn’t."
"He held me when you didn’t."
"He wiped my tears when you didn’t."
Each line twisted the knife deeper and deeper.
The boys in the back stared. No one moved.
“He stayed,” Minseo continued, voice shaking now. “When you left. When you chose a stage over me. When you disappeared and left me alone.”
Heeseung’s expression faltered.
“He loves me,” she said, voice beginning to crack.
“You told me you loved me.. But honestly, I don’t even know if you ever did."
Silence swallowed the room.
Minseo sighed deeply, gaze turning back to the clipboard like she was trying to ignore him. "I'll cut to the crap, Heeseung."
'Get the fuck out of my studio.”
Seungmin stepped beside her, close enough that she could feel his warmth. Minho’s words echoed somewhere in the back of her mind--you’re not alone anymore. We've got you.
And this made her truly believe it.
Heeseung left without another word, dejected.
The door shut.
And for the first time in years, Minseo's heart didn’t ache at his absense.
lol so some backstory: this was lowk a whole series/lifestyle i was plotting out, like an au. this exact moment showed up in my dreams, too, so i thought this would be fitting.
⋆。°✩ pairing: idol sibling heeseung x original character (includes idol boyfriend kim seungmin and idol sim jaeyun)
⋆。°✩ synopsis: In a crowded café, Minseo’s carefully built facade fractures when a stranger’s dog responds to a name she hasn’t spoken in years. What begins as a tender moment of recognition spirals into a confrontation with the past she survived but never escaped. Forced to face the man who once promised to stay, Minseo chooses herself instead, holding onto the fragments of childhood that she'd endured with false hopes. Because some names, once spoken, still answer--and some wounds never forget who failed them.

The café is loud in that soft way—ice clinking, milk steaming, the soft chatter of voices drifting over the music.
Seungmin’s voice close and familiar as he leans subtly across the table. Minseo’s halfway relaxed when something warm presses against her leg.
She looks down.
“Oh, hey,” she murmurs, instinctively crouching. The dog noses into her thigh like she’s done this a hundred times before, tail thumping, chin settling against Minseo’s plush leg. It shouldn’t feel like this. Like muscle memory.
“I’m really sorry,” the owner says quickly. “She’s usually not this—”
“It don't mind,” Minseo interrupts, stroking the dog’s fur gently. It's a border collie, coat tinted a deep cream color with faint light patches.
She looks up the meet the man, eyes crinkling into a smile at the familiar face. "Jaeyunnie?" She gasps, delighted to see him. "It's been quite a while, hun."
The man breaks into an adorable smile, hair falling into his eyes.
"Minseo!" He nods at Seungmin, eyes sparkling with adoration. "And Seungmin, of Stray Kids, I presume?"
Seungmin gives a clipped nod as he eyes the dog, which inches further onto Minseo's lap.
Gaze falling on the border collie, her eyes softening. Minseo's throat tightens before she can stop it, the mood dropping a few notches. “She just… looks like someone I used to know.”
“Oh.” The man smiles awkwardly, fidgeting with the leash. “Her name’s Layla.”
Minseo swallows. “She looks like my Emmie.”
Layla stills. Then she whines--soft, confused--and leans fully into Minseo, as if the name unlocked something buried deep.
Her breath catches.
“Minseo?”
The world tilts.
She straightens slowly, dread crawling up her spine long before she turns around. She already knows. Her chest already hurts.
Heeseung is standing there.
Not a memory.
Not a ghost.
But a hollow piece of the man she used to adore.
Lee Heeseung—older, taller, wearing an idol’s polish like armor.
Like he didn’t leave her in a house that felt like a cage.
Like he didn't let her live in constant abuse.
Like he didn't turn her whole life upside down in one day--the day he fucking left.
Her hands start trembling.
Seungmin’s mood shifts instantly. “Hey,” he says under his breath, sharp. “Not here.”
He pulls them aside before anyone can stare, but Minseo barely registers the movement. She can’t stop looking at Heeseung, at the audacity of him standing this close.
“You left me,” she says quietly, the pain slowly cracking .
Heeseung exhales. “Minseo, I-”
“No,” she snaps, voice cracking despite herself. “You left. You knew what they were like. You knew what they did, and you still disappeared.”
“I thought—”
“You thought what?” Her eyes burn. “That I’d be fine? That I’d survive it because I always did?”
Silence.
That’s what hurts the most.
“I was thirteen,” she whispers. “I begged you not to go. I stayed up all night that day, hoping you'd come back.”
Heeseung’s jaw tightens. “I didn’t have a choice.”
Minseo laughs, broken and sharp. “I didn’t either. And you still walked away.”
Seungmin steps closer, his hand firm at the small of her back, grounding. Protective.
“I don’t want you in my life,” Minseo says, voice trembling now. “You don’t get to see me again. You don’t get to pretend we’re family after leaving me alone in that house.”
She turns away before he can respond—before he can say something that might hurt more.
Back at the table, the dog curls at her feet like she belongs there. Jaeyun hesitates, then quietly offers his phone.
“…If you ever want to see her again,” he says, unsure.
Minseo saves the number.
Not for Heeseung.
For herself.
For the memories she wanted to relive with Emmie.
For the piece of her childhood that survived, even when he didn’t stay.
y'all what do we think? this has been on my mind for a while now lol! more lore to come... thinking of making this a lil "random updates" series!
i’m brand new to formula 1 (like i know shit ab f1 rn except that they have two teams--ferrari and mclaren and some guys named lando norris and charles leclerc 💀), but i'm not new to tumblr, and i was hoping someone could give me a quick crash course??
in general, i think like Ferrari so i’m guessing that’ll be my favorite team (that’s how this works… right? lol), but i’ve also heard a lot about other teams like mclaren and such, so i’m super open to learning about everyone!
i’d love literally any info you’re willing to share:
– important teams/drivers (current or iconic)
– f1 lore / drama / tragedies i should know about so i don’t accidentally say something stupid
– recent or ongoing storylines/major events
– where to watch, who to follow, or how to actually understand what’s going on during races
basically assume i know nothing and feel free to infodump 💀
this would be a HUGE help because i’m trying to get into f1 and, very importantly, i am lowkey trying to impress the huzz… so please help a girl out (T-T)
He’s not the loudest about it — he never will be — but he shows me in a hundred little ways: in the packed dinners he brings to late nights, the forehead kisses he sneaks when no one’s looking, the way his messages always end with “Get home safe.”
just wanted to say that no matter what happens and who says dumb shit to you, there'll always be some ppl who love you.
this message is to address this know toxic growing community on tumblr :(
friends become your found family but not everyone that speaks to you becomes a friend.
listen to them and believe them only if you value their opinion. if you don't trust them and know that they don't know shit about you, why should you believe them when they talk shit about you?
just try to ignore them. i know its hard but focus on the ppl you love. it doesn't even have to be on tumblr. get off your screen and even spend time with your family or friends or colleagues.
