You know what i wanna read?
Slow resignation.
Not a slow corruption, or complete naivety, but slow resignation.
When A finds out B is evil (or the likes), and he is in deep shit with B, but he also has morals... that goes completely opposite to B. The knowledge is useless because A knows he cannot get away from B—not because he cannot, but because he doesn't want to.
A doesn't lose his morals, or supports what B does in any way, but slowly, he learns that there's nothing he can do for himself or B to escape from this web of corruption.
The slow resignation that he is helpless against his morals and B, while neither can coexist. The slow resignation that he will spend rest of his life fighting his conscience, and his desires. The slow resignation that hell is not B's world, but his own world—where he cannot give up his morals, nor B.
So its a constant push and pull while he loses his sanity.
