first of all, i cried like a baby thoughout most of this episode, so thanks.
mallow is just an incredible character and i love her. her episodes have my favourite lessons tbh, she has thematically very similiar arcs (wanting a thank you, and learning to say thank you.. and holy shit her mother is so young and i get it 100 per cent why she might not have had the same wisdom when she was just dying as she parted to mallow this episode.. it’s so good. don’t say sorry if you mean thank you!!! this was beautiful, thank you oh my god
AND THIS!!! they know exactly what they’re doing!! i hope this is more than just teasing but i’m not really holding my breath kajdfsgkja still i appreciate this because i guessed it wouldn’t be ash and i laughed at the cheekiness of them calling attention to it! also it makes sense coming from kiawe, since he and ash have been spending a lot of time together lately, having lot’s of emotional connection beyond just training.
(still, would be nice! maybe something emotional involving ash will come closer to the end of the season?)
i was expecting some heavier lesson about learning to let dead loved ones go with one of the three main characters in the mist, and i thought it might be mallow or torracat, but instead we got hapu’s character arc coming to a really nice turning point! she’s been spending time and bonding with new people she can call her friends, and she was willing to protect them! i think that was the thing that made tapu fini accept her as kahuna. i really like hapu!
anyway i cried so 10/10 episode :’‘O
