i realize this was written ages ago, but i wanted to get back and say thanks for the feedback! i'm glad it's been meaningful for you. :) i have been considering going back and editing the small devotional acts as an adult with more experience so they read better and have more and better devotional ideas. if you're interested in this notion, please respond in the notes and comments. share what deities you'd like elaborated on, or requests for new (norse only) deities. i will edit and build on these posts as i find the time and energy.

Honour Rhiannon/Epona by taking a ride on Epona in any Zelda game. You don't need to focus on playing the game, just take a nice trip around the map for however long or short you like and enjoy yourself 💚

Since the first of these devotional posts about offerings for Hela was so popular, I've decided to make another. Given that it's Mother's Day, I thought it would be appropriate to offer up one as a devotional to Loki. Happy Mother's Day!

Offering Ideas for Loki

Are there even any "normal" ideas for offerings to Loki? Maybe sweets, perhaps? 

A single strawberry skittle placed in a little seashell

Untangle something, and really focus on the mental and tactile process of easing out the snarls

Make something that involves knotting, felting, or otherwise carefully and intentionally tangling something up (because that's all knitting and crocheting are - really fancy, sometimes really useful piles of carefully placed knots)

Make someone laugh

Make yourself laugh

Look at pictures of cute puppers or sneks

Appreciate the beauty you find in unexpected places

Be the unexpected sparkle of joy in a stranger's life

Speak up when something is wrong in the world

Try to let go and really enjoy doing something, without a care for who might hear or see. Sing, dance, make art, cook, organize things… whatever makes you happy, try not to let self-consciousness take it away from you

Stand up for your friends and family and those you love… even if it's speaking gently as you try to protect them from their own words, or their memories, or their own minds. Know when to be gentle so you don't make it worse. Sometimes, the fiercest protectors are the quietest.

this is a list of small devotional acts to honor and bond with hermes, god of languages, thieves, trickery, commerce, travel, eloquence, roads, wealth, luck, speed, sleep and dreams, messengers, the dead, and a bunch of other things

☤ travel to a new country

☤ if you can’t travel, research places you’d like to visit

☤ play a prank

☤ drink some coffee

☤ go for a run

☤ try writing a physical letter

☤ check in with family and friends, even the ones who seem to be doing great

☤ write/read poetry

☤ learn (at least the basics) of a new language, especially if you’re traveling to where that language is from

☤ educate yourself on different cultures and customs

☤ try telling fortunes with dice

☤ practice spirit work

☤ honor deceased family members or pets

☤ help spirits move on, if you know any

☤ do some community service

☤ read

☤ tip extra and leave money for street performers and the homeless

☤ make a lucky charm for a loved one

☤ try something new and try to be more spontaneous

☤ tell jokes, try to cheer people up

☤ play card games

☤ practice saving money and budgeting so you can treat yourself later
