Half of him wants to be across the street with Kyle but after seeing Johnny’s first instinct was to try to protect you, the other half of him wants to help keep you safe too. Never did it cross Simon or Johnny's mind that you willingly put yourself in this dangerous position. (snuggling on the couch with a snake). “Relax boys, he’s nice look” You lift the lil guy up in the air showing him off. Both Simon and Johnny relaxed as they looked at your big happy eyes staring at the creature you were holding. Johnny put his gun away and was immediately next to you asking to hold him. Simon took a few more steps into the room but was absolutely not going to hold the thing. “You wanna hold him Si?” “absolutely fucking not.” too harsh Simon try again “I mean no thank you.” The snake is back in its vivarium and Simon would go check it out but do not touch him while he’s there bc he def jumped out of his skin when you touched his shoulder while he was focused on the snake. Wait its been hours where’s kyle? Eating dinner outside bc he’s not coming back in with that thing in there.

Ahhhhh that was fucking glorious. Loved every single second of it, and this means that when I finally get to go to one of their shows, I’m bringing a German book, it has been decided lol.
Anyway hope you guys found as much enjoyment in AJ’s distress and the other guy’s mutual delight as I did, and I shall return as quickly as possible with Toby’s Secret Pocket and Jingle Boys commentary :)
First of all, I came in through the back door. I saw all these shadow guys and I was like “Eeeeee what are the Hornsent doing here, aren’t they creeped out?” and then I realized they weren’t horned and that they were attacking me with Messmer fire attacks and then I started farming them mercilessly for runes.
It’s interesting to see the deer and creatures covered in horns. It’s also interesting to see THIS GUY who I saw and immediately went “Oh no. Nope. Nonononono” because he looks an awful lot like a certain Omen King I would be very aggrieved to see slain and strung up like meat on a hook.
I got closer for a better look and it wasn’t better.
I wonder who this guy is, and what he was to Marika. An ancient enemy? Boy is a giant. If it is someone familiar to Marika, maybe this partially explains why she would take one look at her Omen children, and Morgott in particular, and go NOPE, get ‘em out of here. (Note: I mean an explanation. Not an excuse. There is no excuse.)
There’s also like a bajillion bosses around here. And I would have thought Messmer would have like some throne room or something up top, not be behind some random door that I opened in the Storehouse (of course maybe there is supposed to be more weight to finding his room and I just went such a bass-ackwards way through the Storehouse I felt like it was like opening a random door). But he did me a good startle, that’s for sure. I was like “OH! IT’S YOU. I’ll come back to you.”
Speaking of - SNEK!
Other Storehouse-related thoughts:
It took me FOREVER to find Ansbach. I think because I took like 4 different circuitous routes through the storehouse. Also, I do not blame him because I too have gotten a book and found a cozy corner and ignored all and sundry and the movements of the celestial spheres for hours. I feel you, Ansbach.
Also just even more amazed with each time I talk to him how people can think Ansbach is shady. He’s the calmest, most with it person I have met, man. It’s like he’s been able to take a step back and see this whole thing with Miquella from a more nuanced angle. He doesn’t hate Miquella or even really blame him; he says he doesn’t think Miquella understands the “humiliation” he is doing to Mohg. Ansbach is chill. He’s more chill than I am for sure.
I pulled a lever and a secret door opened when a bookcase moved and my heart was so delighted. Thank you for that, From Software/Miyazaki.
The impenetrable thorns. Are these the same kind of thorns that Marika used to seal the Erdtree? It’s curious that it’s a spell we can learn, since it keeps everyone out, even Morgott. But I guess it is not native to the Lands Between, rather the Shadowrealm.
Man that Sunflower was much tougher than I would have anticipated a sunflower being. It’s also weird that there is not really anywhere to go off of that area. He did drop Miquella’s freaking Great Rune though so that was a special surprise.
Those Fire Knights can take a long walk off a short pier.
The Storehouse is weird. It’s beautiful, and I love the tons and tons of books and records (librarians gonna librarian, after all). The rest of it is creepy, weird, off-putting and cruel.
…And if the pot people are a result of the Hornsent’s experiments on the SHaman, why does Messmer have a bunch of pot people in various obvious stages of experimentation in his basement? Does anyone know?
I’m never gonna get that poor Hornsent dude out of my head. I was expecting to have my heart broken about Mohg in the DLC. I wasn’t expecting to grieve Morgott all over again too.
