do you guys remember when a lot of us theorized this was will giving up and sacrificing himself? whole time it’s actually will finding his inner strength by thinking about how loved he is. by accepting who he is and gaining power from it.
he thinks of meeting mike, of hanging with him in mike’s basement. he thinks of drawing for jonathan and joyce. of building castle byers. he thinks of the things that make him special - his creativity, playfulness and wonder and whimsy.
he is an artist. he is a sorcerer in a hat and robe. he is a good friend. he’s sweet and sensitive and thoughtful. he is a son and a brother. he is queer. he is STRONGER because of all of these things.
vecna called him weak, and he immediately said “no the fuck i’m not?” and drew on self-love and love for the people in his life, all to tap into his power and SAVE THEM.
Welcome to my unpopular opinion but I am so, so tired of people and just the fandom as a whole vilifying the Drakes to an obscene amount. Like, were they the best parents in the world? No, but they weren't the abusive and neglectful monsters most of the fandom tries to write them as.
Jack and Janet were fully under the impression Tim was being taken care of when they were gone because he was in boarding schools, a responsible and logical place to put a child if you knew your work would have you traveling a lot. The only reason this wasn't true because Tim was the one to make it so. Tim was the one sneaking out of boarding schools and not telling his parents what he was doing.
Every time in the comics when the Drakes came back, Tim was excited and actually did spend time with them. We are given multiple accounts from Tim of him hanging out with both of his parents when they are back in town while Tim is being robin.
The Drakes also very much cared about Tim. The first thing Jack does when he finds out Tim was in a dangerous situation (being Robin) was get Tim out of it. Yeah, it sucks that Tim's opinions and thoughts were acknowledged, but Jack did what any loving and responsible parent would do the moment they find out their son was risking their life and doing something extremely dangerous and reckless and that's get him out of it! Jack moved Tim away from potential danger to keep his son safe. The moment Tim went missing Jack dropped fucking everything he had in terms of influence and fortune to get his son back. Is that the behavior of someone who couldn't give a shit about their son? Someone who clearly doesn't care about their safety and existence? No. It's not.
Besides, not even Tim himself vilifies his parents. Time and time again in the comics, Tim is shown missing his parents, talking fondly of them. Literally during the whole saga where Tim was traveling through time and the multiverse to find Bruce during failsafe, Tim embraces his mother and just enjoys being with her. Tim's ideal world and life is his parents being alive, it's Tim being with his Dad and Mom.
The Drakes are not evil monsters, and honestly, Tim's story and dynamic with Bruce is so much more interesting when the Drakes are loving and caring and Bruce isn't 'saving' him from his parents.
Inspired by the song "Love Like You" where Bruce and Clark love each other and love from their lover's love.
Bruce learn to give people a chance, to believe that he won't be hurt. To give a bit more of himself, his true self, to the world and to know it wouldn’t take it all away from him. To let him learn that he can still be free from paranoia and anxiety and be able to be desired and cherished.
Clark learns to be more guarded, to show his human side (his anger, his rage, his fear) without it feeling like a moral failing because he couldn’t keep the Superman mask on. Clark learned to let others see him as a potential threat but ultimately trust that he will not turn on them. To be able to be angry and sad and everything human without causing people to panic and goes into hysteria. He's allowed to be free for himself.
Stan Twins headcanons No One asked for (TW: some angst)
Because I’m obsessing over Gravity Falls yet again.
Stan and Ford shared the Diablo through high school (they bought it together), but their parents bought Ford his own car for graduation after Stan was kicked out
Stanley cried when he crashed the Diablo to fake his death because it felt like losing his brother all over again
Stanley kept all the mirrors/reflective surfaces in the house covered for at least a year after the portal incident
Ford refused to keep the home movies from his and Stan’s childhood; Stanley got them from their parents at his funeral and kept them in the Shack for when he finally got Ford home
Fiddleford actually enjoyed having Bill around until he started being actively creepy and take advantage of Ford
Time passes differently in different dimensions, so Ford forgot how old he was until he got back to his home dimension and found a calendar
The people of Gravity Falls genuinely love Stan like he’s their uncle; every town needs a grouchy uncle
Ford had girls literally lining up to flirt with him in college but was too busy/dumb to notice
The twins forgot to call Shermie and explain everything for nearly half a year after Ford’s return; Dipper and Mabel said nothing about it, assuming Stan and Ford had already told him
Shermie knew it was Stanley in Gravity Falls the whole time and just figured Ford was off working for the government as a top secret scientific advisor or something
While adventuring on the Stan O’ War II, Ford calls Dipper and Mabel obsessively to make sure they’re doing okay
Stan and Ford both ship Dipcifica, but for different reasons (“Marry rich, kid, I like it!” “They make each other better, Stanley!”)
Just imagine, my head resting on your chest as I write little love confessions on your arm with my long nails. While one of your arms is at the mercy of my fingers, the other one slowly raises itself to wrap around my waist.
They let Loki be intimidating again. They let him use his magic they let him be seen as an actual formidable person I repeat they LET HIM BE INTIMIDATING AGAIN NOBODY TOUCH ME
Physically vibrating with excitement, INCREDIBLE DAY FOR ANNOYING PEOPLE
