This is the story of accepting Intelleon.
Denial. So, my first reaction was negative, very negative, so negative that I wished the leak was fake. Because my first associations were... Well.. That this pokemon looks like a prost&tute. I was on my way to debate tournament and didn't want to even assume the possibility of the leak being true.
Anger. Than I started texting my friend about how much I hate the evo and how I hate it even more because I want to chose sobble, he is my boy, my little crybaby angel bean. Breaking down what exactly I hate about it so much and got to the conclusion that something about the torso area was putting me off.
Barganing. Since I love sobble so much, and grew attached to him, I still would chose sobble, but I am not evolving it, if Ash can get away with not evolving the starters, then frick it, sobble is my boy until the end.
Depression. I got really sad, I wanted to love this pokemon, I truly and sincerely did, but, hell, what is so off-putting about its evo?! And than I started trying to understand why were the things that I hated there, and tried to draw it, and it hit me like a lightning from an angry god.
Acceptance. IT WAS THE POSE ALL ALONG! I TRIED TO DRAW IT IN A DIFFERENT POSE, AND IT LOOKS OKAY! The pose was throwing me off all this time. In the end of the day it grew on me, step by step, gradually, but it did. Now it triggers much cooler associations, like a super villan vibe. And if you try to google arts of intelleon in a different pose it is awesome and absolutely lovable. Don't get me wrong, I am still not a huge fan of it's body patterns, but other than that it is a good pokemon . MAKE THE SOBBLE SQUAD GREAT AGAIN
