How can he know, what are the guards saying, if he doesn't understand their national anthem? I thought perhaps he cannot make out the words, but they're written above as he hears them, so that's likely not the issue. For some reason, he knows exactly one (1) sentence:
Wait, did you hear something?
... he glimpsed a big dining hall. One wall ... was adorned by an enormous banner with no discernible pattern, a patchwork of slender strips of cloth—mostly red and blue, but some purple, too. Those are pieces of the kefta that Grisha wear in battle. They’re trophies.”

If I remember correctly, Jesper isn't even aware he's summoning, when shooting, so how exactly does he mean he uses his powers, if he's keeping them a secret?
What was he thinking? He needed... Can't wait for him to unlearn this.

This part is a mess.
Either it's badly worded, or Jesper's mind's connecting things that don't make sense, while ignoring what's actually the point.
[Colm]'d never quite shaken the superstitions of the Wandering Isle... would suggest he believes drinking Grisha blood will cure all that's ailing him, but instead we get Colm's fear for Jesper, due to the treatment Grisha have to face. That has nothing to do with Kaelish superstitions instilled in him, but that, which he encountered even as a normie.
But Jesper had always wondered if maybe his father had been a little afraid of him, too. Just because Colm might be a little afraid (I mean... he MARRIED Aditti, who isn't exactly secretive about her powers, so it won't be that bad.), his fear FOR Jesper isn't unfounded in any way?! Yet the dangers he was trying to point out remain unnoticed by Jesper.

Perhaps because a thief ~chooses~ to do (material) harm to others, while Grisha are punished for "the crime" of existing?!
It's bizarre, how Jesper IS Grisha, but he's simply completely disregarding what's happening around him, unless it's literally in front of him in the most explicit way.
Sure, he might have other problems, but this is a beautiful example of how being Grisha and understanding what it means are two diametrically different matters.
And no, not being taught about it is no excuse. He's old enough to live by himself, gamble, attend and quit "adult" school, he's old enough to know about AND understand common state of matters. It's not like he's hiding his abilities only to avoid Nina's recruitment. He lives in fucking Kerch, and voices what's happening to Grisha there.

As far as we know, Ravkan Grisha wear them EVERYWHERE (to be marked as something "other").
Kefta aren't only soldiers' uniforms, they're ALL Ravkan Grisha's clothes, including non-combatant servants of the Crown. Second Army "soldier" can be just a weak paper pusher with basic training or local Lord's weatherman.
Bloodied kefta doesn't mean a challenging fight. The only guarantee is a dead Grisha.

For some reason I think Wylan might truly be pragmatic enough not to lose his sleep over a dead threat, but it's nice to finally encounter an instant of Jesper being genuinely nice to him.

Second Army was a structure established to protect Grisha among other things. Do they have a different kind of organisation with that function, since the draft is abolished?!
How do they keep track of all Ravkan Grisha?
How do they keep them employed?
