Mercs Biggest Insecurities

Request: Hi :) I want to make a request. What are the mercs biggest insecurities? If not all the mercs then maybe Sniper, Engineer and Soldier :)

Is always questioning how he ended up here, he’s aware of how exactly, but mainly questions why? Why was it him that went through this? Honestly wishes that he was independent, able to do jobs at his own pace while living with his parents. He misses them everyday.

How he might never get to raise a family like how he always wanted. He was always a family man especially due to his family being large and family oriented. But with his current job and how he’s very unlikely to quit, he’s scared that he won’t ever get to be a father like he wanted.

Not that he would let anyone know (Except Zhanna maybe) but he’s insecure about his iq. Like he’s aware that he’s definitely not the smartest merc around but always thought he was smarter than he actually is. In his more… stable moments, he tends to spiral, what his life could’ve become if he changed one thing. Always tries to avoid these moments by doing what he normally does.

Would heighten sense effect sex for Soldiers?

People's sense of smell would probably be so varied as to what they like/don't like is already so it would just depend what you're into.

I do feel like scents that are usually seen as unpleasant would be even more so - I personally headcanon that for example, smoking would be really vile to someone enhanced.

The sense of TOUCH being enhanced would be really interesting, just a whole situation of someone being stroked and petted all over with the barest touch of fingertips being overwhelmingly sensitive - hot.

Having sex in total darkness but you can see one another, maybe tinted slightly green or turquoise is also really interesting - a lot less fumbling about when you're trying to hide in a closet to get off between meetings and missions...

He will buy (STEAL) every piece of fourth of July memorabilia he can find.

Tacky or not he's taking it all.

He'd have his hands full yelling at engineer to start the truck as the store owner is running after him.

His grand-kid cannot escape fourth of July. He'd deck them out in all the memorabilia he had found. (stole)

They'd have on at least 3 hats, 2 shirts, to many American flags to count and a pool float. With one of those shity plastic sunglasses with the American flag as the frames.

He'd get engineer to help him with a big barbecue (mostly cause Engie doesn't trust him with the grill)

His grand-kid is getting SPOILED!

Scout would come running up for seconds and Solider would yell at him and lecture telling him all about how in war he only got one ration and he liked it! while he's plating up more food for his grand-kid.

Will take them to see the fireworks, he's not allowed to do his own after he was banned last year after he blew up half the base with his fireworks (ROCKET LAUNCHER)

He's allowed sparklers thought his grand-kid gets to hold one, while he's there cheering with ten in each hand and a few strapped to his helmet.

Soldier Headcanons

He's a good man, he really is

Someone said that it would offend him that you would even imply america is not already great

Do you think Soldiers need special shoes?

I figure just... regular combat boots. Zack, who goes through a 100 pairs of boots a year is an outlier and shouldn't be counted.

Enhanced SOlDIER senses. Would fireworks be painful for them? Wutai could use flash bangs on them

Oh yeah definitely, especially at first. I think that's why the helmets are so featureless - there is a dimmed HUD in there that is programmed to deal with those flash bangs and keep from blinding you.

Experienced Solider teaching a new solider could be hot.

Absolutely, and there was supposed to be a scene about it in Ruin's Edge that I never got around to - Roche off-hand mentioned the 'break room' that was next to the break room.

That room is full of very fragile everyday things SOLDIERS will need to use and have to get used to handling with being super strong. Like everything from a delicate tea set to computer equipment.

It very well could be a thing that a SOLDIER would be offered another SOLDIER partner to experiment with.

I nominate Angeal when he was around, and after that they asked if Zack would step into that role. Angeal had taken it very seriously and everyone was so intimidated- Zack makes it fun and relaxing.

After Zack... it would probably fall to Kunsel who would absolutely be gathering Intel from pillow talk to file away for later.

SOLDIER healing

SOLDIERs have a healing factor. Is that canon or a popular headcanon?

How does it work? Is the damaged reversed? Or would their natural body's healing be sped up? How fast do they heal? Put it another way. What happens when a SOLDIER gets shot and the bullet doesn't go all the way through? Does the bullet eventually pop out of the wounds as it heals? Would the SOLDIER have to cut the bullet out because their body heals around it? If a SOLDIER breaks a bone, do they need to set it? Do SOLDIERs have to break and reset their own bones?

SOLDIERs scar. Zack does. That makes me lend towards wounds don't heal perfectly.

SOLDIERs treating each others injuries, including having to reopen wounds to treat them properly. Could a communal bonding practice.

Whatever happens when a SOLDER gets shot, Avalanche is going to find out right after their escape from Shinra tower. Cloud probably got shot by Rufus at least a few time. I'm sure it will be gross. Poor Tifa.
