To all the foreigners trying to understand the situation in Greece.
Greece is NOT a democracy anymore. Police brutality and government policies are turning the country into a dictatorship, not unlike in Turkey, Poland and Ukraine.
To sum up the latest events until February 2021:
1. Extreme police violence inside and outside universities. Cops drag students on the street by the head, cops hit a student with a fire extinguisher, cops ARMED inside the universities.
2. People aren’t allowed to leave their homes from 21:00 to 05:00. On the weekends the curfew is from 18:00 to 05:00, as a “safety measure” for the ongoing pandemic.
3. In order to leave your house you have to send an SMS (with a specific number that applies to the reason you are leaving your house) to the authorities in order to be allowed to.
4. You are not allowed to travel from one municipal region to another without the essential documents (ex medical reasons etc).
5. Police officers are allowed to fine you with 300€ fine if you haven’t sent an SMS or left your house during curfew hours or generally for not liking the way you behave or seem “suspicious” to them.
6. The political prisoner Dimitris Koufontinas dies in the Intensive Care Unit after 46 days of hunger strike.
7. The pedophile circuit whose client was the director of the National Greek Theater is disguised by the government and the media.
8. The government controls the mainstream media and tries to silence everyone who opposes them.
Greece is dead. Democracy is dead.
Democracy dies in the place it was once born.
