okay so we all know that zoey looooves to ramble. and i'd imagine that, during their predebut, she'd often ramble to rumi rather than mira (mira was quite moody and didn't want to bore her out of her mind (people pleaser type shit)), and so zoey talks rumi's ears off about whatever.
her favourite cartoon, top 10 most dangerous animals of that one specific bay area in south america, what kind of outfits she imagined for their upcoming idol career. a poem she stumbled upon! an old friend shooting her a message! pointing at the sky and making out shapes!
and yeah, rumi is the quiet kid in the beginning, but there was definitely a "breaking point" when rumi felt comfortable enough with zoey to have her OWN ted talk.
and let me tell you—zoey is awestruck. like, awestruck. she had no idea rumi could get so caught up in something until she talks about korea's historical weapons or Foraging Tips 101 for 3 hours. they'd probably stay up late just sharing tidbits (or blocks) of knowledge between each other (i imagine they both knew about different things so they were kind of completing each other).
and then morning practice would be hell with their tired and sluggish bodies, but at least zoey would come to the sparring session aware of the most optimal way to braid hair while rumi would daydream about visiting the world's biggest aquariums.
