i just finished wakfu and bOI. bOI this hurts so bad oh gods. But good point for aging up Yugo enough that yumalia isn't weird. i still feel like the development could have been a lil bit better but like, at least it's not weird.

also this season was dARK MY GODS thoros was fucking terrifying???? the wakfu-pulling torture scenes???? the whole vibe around the necroworld???? the voice acting??? jizzus I'm deeply unsettled. And did nora and ephrim kill themselves at the end???? like what the fuck???? did they survive millennia between the fall of the eliatrope civilization and thoros to get tortured and used by an undead psychopath and then win against him and fuck off to the confines of the universe to freeze and die????? what the fuck???? ouch????

nothing screams the aftermath of immense trauma and purposeless life like freezing yourself to death with your twin so people will finally leave you the fuck alone.

but hey! the panda guy is a great house-keeper and Ruel is learning to let go of riches! Also bonus point for Goultard + percedal family content!

A somewhat spoiler review of Euphoria pilot

Great soundtrack, cinematography, acting

Dialogue feels pretty natural. a lot of shows get it wrong every now and then when it comes to teen-speak but this show ain’t one of them.

I only knew Zendaya before watching this but tbh the entire cast and crew didn’t disappoint

occasionally pretty funny

great characters! makes use of stereotypes but also has characters that i haven’t seen before in a teen drama

there is some triggering material in the show which im gonna list below for as much as i can.

drug use/addiction

paedophilia (?)

self-harm (?, not entirely sure if it is intentional but it could be interpreted as)

nudity 

peer pressure in a sexual context

transphobia (mostly in the dialogue)

In my own viewing, i thought the first 15 - 20 minutes were pretty okay to watch. There is some drug use there but it isn’t very explicit. halfway through the show the other warnings i put up make an appearance.

The paedophilia has a question mark as im not really sure if it is. Jules meets a guy on a tinder app and there seems to be quite an age gap between them. Jules states there that she’s 22 though it is not made clear if she’s lying or not. This part can easily be skipped for now, but it comes back near the end of the episode so it might return as the central conflict in later episodes.

Imo the episode as a whole really stands as a somewhat realistic teen drama. I guess i do have to compare it to Heathers (1988, the movie not the show) in terms of how it handles very real and scary stuff teenagers/young adults have to deal with these days. 

On that note, social media is very well handled in this show! it’s not present too much and not too little and doesn’t have any weird “Look what they posted on their instagram >:0000″ moments.

I really would recommend it if you think you can watch it. I thought it was pretty okay to watch despite the warnings, though of course i can’t speak for everyone. That said i might have missed some of the trigger material so i highly recommend checking some official listings first.

Since I’m here more for lore than for gameplay I’m gonna base my opinions on that.

I still prefer Hollow Knight over Silksong.

It could be that because of my ADHD I felt the world was too packed and there was too much stuff to do, which made me feel anxious and overwhelmed, though I never felt like it was bad by any means.

I’m also biased af and very emotionally attached to the first game, so that’s also a potential reason why SS didn’t cling as strongly to me, though there were some parts that almost made me cry and one that DID make me cry, though not for the reasons intended lol.

I’ll still think more about this on the following days as people find more lore pieces and we all put stuff together and my opinion might change eventually, but so far I think Hollow Knight is better.

Finally got around to play Needy Streamer Overload (or Needy Girl Overdose) and what an experience that was.

The vaporwave Windows 95 artstyle is fantastic, the sometimes stressful OST stellar(which I already knew beforehand) and Ame is an amazingly flawed main character that I definitely wouldn't idolize but still kinda rooted for, really cool.

Even if the game never takes itself 100% seriously, I found that it tackled alot of interesting and very real themes even beyond general internet culture like parasociality, identity, insecurity, social anxiety and other mental health topics, I really enjoyed that. Although maybe enjoy is not the right word, since some routes (especially the high-stress ones) were not really pleasant and quite stark at times; it made me feel very bad as the player for making certain decisions :(

All in all I liked it a lot, but knew so beforehand; it just took me eons to finally start (and finish) it. It scratches that itch for psychological deep dives disguised in cutesy anime aesthetics, really cool.

THAT BOOK WAS AWESOME. two things though:

i want it to do something original and make the MCs in a queer book like actually have their shit together. i feel like every lgbt book i read like not just in this series, the protags are like huge disasters and idk why. like it's not a problem it just gets kind of repetitive.

i feel like considering the titles of the actual books in this series there could've been a more creative title for the series than royals&romance.

I cannot describe to you how much of a poorly designed game Babylon’s Fall is.

I’ll try anyway.

First, there’s no reason to be live service. You have a tiny ass hub, and that’s your entire reason for always online. Yeah. That’s it. You can’t do anything meaningful with other players in it, but you can see them buy shit and start quests. Amazing (sarcastic). Every single mission is instanced. They literally could’ve just had it like Monster Hunter or Federation Force or any other sp/mp co-op game out there but nah, gotta be a LIVE game cause that’s the in thing (it’s not).

Second, this is literally the jankiest, worst combat I’ve ever experienced in any Platinumgames game that I’ve played. And yes, that does include that budget ass 15 dollar Korra game. That game was highly repetitive, super short, and was missing a back half (seriously you get so little game time with all your abilities) but at least the combat felt good. With BF I literally cannot come up with any combination of button configurations to make managing all this shit feel enjoyable at all. I’ve literally had to stop playing and replay parts of Bayonetta 1 just to remind myself that PG are capable of making good combat.

What makes it all worse is that the concept, characters and story almost work; they just can’t do anything that feels meaningful because this is a LIVE SERVICE GAME and those are supposed to GO ON FOREVER. Here’s the thing: if your core game isn’t fun to play, then why would anyone bother with the supposed infinite post game?

Blackout by Dhonielle Clayton, Tiffany D Jackson, Nic Stone, Angie Thomas, Ashley Woodfolk, and Nicola Yoon is sending me to tears already. Cute, heartwarming, shaping up to be a very good, very emotional read.

Watched Onward for the first time OMG! It was great!

Loved how DND-inspired a lot of it was, and I know for a fact my main DND group would have messed up so many of those puzzles! (Our DM says she makes them easy, but both our characters and their players are actual dumdums)

What I don’t see a lot of people mention is Guinevere. The horse whinny on start up, that amazing, heroic final charge, and just how much love Barley must’ve put into her. I legit teared up because I’ve defo anthropomorphised my car’s before, and I generally cry at anything horse related....

Loved the rock dragon too. Such a great design(and I loved its cute dragon face).

I just...really liked Onward you guys.
