yesss and that is where the title comes from! this is a silicon valley richard/jared fic in which jared is an android created by hooli. I don't think I'll ever finish it, but here's a lil excerpt:

Coming from someone else, this line of questioning might read as rude or even taboo, but Richard's curiosity is so beautiful and genuine, it'd be unfair to deny it.

Jared gestures to his head. "Memory implant. Easy enough to remove, so they always have that to threaten you with. Unscrew the skullplate, snip a few wires, and poof!" Jared chuckles. There were times, though, when he wouldn't have minded, his particular set of memories more a burden and a curse.

he! camera guy and drama girl both get so much attention, and deservedly so, but i so rarely see love for sound guy. a star in his own right!

43: most underrated scene.

season 5 is so full of iconic mcwexler moments, but personally, i feel like we don’t talk about them roleplaying kevin / kim nearly as much as we could or should be. i believe peter mentions on the insider podcast that he showcased this scene in place of a teaser / trailer at a roundtable event because he loved it so much and like, exactly. see also: rhea’s quote about kim’s vulnerability; jimmy’s the natural performer, but she offers herself up in that moment in favor of her softer and more playful side. babygirl,

Republican voter enthusiasm has in fact gone up with the hearings. Our turnout edge is pretty much gone at the moment.

It’s far more likely that any bump in the polls is from a response bias due to him being in the news nonstop. The idea that this alone made up the yawning enthusiasm gap is something Republican consultants tell themselves to feel better.

there is no better friend to have in a fandom than a fandom elder, someone who has seen all the wank there is to see, someone who keeps their head on straight and sees clear and can take you by the shoulders every so often and go look, little friend, this is Some Shit and i know it’s Some Shit but there is nothing new under the sun let’s get coffee and i’ll tell you about the crazy shit that went down in x-files fandom back in the day and it’s all gonna be good. and you, my guy, are very much one of those friends. even though our fandom circles have diverged, we can always come back together over tea and star wars and you will still be kickin’ along, doing your thing, having good ideas and presenting them in your understated way like it ain’t no big thing, even though it really ought to be.

i know i’ve said this before, but you are stealth one of the best writers i’ve ever encountered in fandom. your dialogue is spot-on—snappy without sounding jarring, funny but not stilted—and you have the dubious distinction of being the only person to have ever made me care about Frederick Chilton, so that’s a pretty powerful testament to your skill. sometimes i dream of what could have been, if you’d gone public with the Zeller/Chilton fic, or if Escape From S2 had become a thing, but like—that fandom ain’t deserve you, bro. you got out and found Jesus (read: star wars) and i love that. it’s a better place.

i also really trust you when it comes to good Takes on political issues. i’m not exactly the most politically savvy person out there, but i know i can rely on you to make things easier to understand and put words to that feeling of something-here-is-fishy-but-i-can’t-quite-say-what. that is a really valuable skill to have right now, and i (and others too, i’m sure) am really grateful that you share your understanding with us so we can deal with Our Latest Bullshit in an effective and level-headed way.
