Misheard lyrics are often better than the originals. For example, when I was a little kid I misheard the lyrics to “Little Miss Muffet” as “Eating her curtains away.” This obviously makes no fucking sense for a person to do, so my child brain thought for years that the point of the nursery rhyme was that Little Miss Muffet was a Clothes Moth or some other fabric eating insect, and so obviously would be frightened away by a spider - we’ve got Ladybug, Ladybug and Itsy Bitsy Spider, no reason why the main character of this nursery rhyme couldn’t be an insect, right?
I think my misheard version is far superior, and should be sung to kids instead because it teaches them about the beneficial nature of spiders and other predators that get rid of insect pests from an early age.
