Cas didn’t have to say “I love you. I love all of you.” He could have just said “I love you guys” and no one would have complained about that. No sane person would have asked why he said it like that. The fact that he said “I love you” first and the camera cut to deans face was an intentional choice. I need you to understand, that was an explicit love confession, while still letting homophobes hang on to their willful ignorance. Since Cas wasn’t actually going to die, that was the best they could do with the restrictions around the show. The second sentence does not take away from the first one.
