I really do think they fumbled the Princes of Hell in s12, they only made Azazel a big deal because that was the point of series 1 and 2.

Dagon was literally just Kelly's evil captor and babysitter and I feel like she was only that because Kelly's trust would be there more since it was a woman.

Ramiel was just kinda there and did something I guess??? And also there to remind Mary just what kind of trouble she, Sam, Dean and Cas were in.

I suppose Asmodeus was somewhat better and more prominent and actually did something more than just be "villain of the week".

I know Dagon was there more than once but I mean she was just ordered to stay with Kelly to keep an eye on Jack.

With Asmodeus, he was able to capture and torture Gabriel, obtain loyalty, steal Gabriel's grace for himself, was able to trick Jack by shape-shifting into Donatello, he wasn't killed in his debut or had to prove he was worth following, he showed his scars to remind the demons that yes, he was aware of how Lucifer acted.

Another thing that makes Dean wary of Jack is that, in 12x19, it looks like Jack exchanges Dagon for Cas.

Dagon is dead set on protecting Jack, but he chooses Cas and he brainwashes him to turn him into his protector. And then he uses Cas as a weapon to get rid of her.

What's to say he isn't going to get tired of Cas that quickly? That he isn't going to choose something else and uses it to get rid of Cas once he'd have no use for him anymore?

And then Lucifer finds them… then Cas fights him for the Nephilim and he dies because of it.

And Jack is born at the very same moment. Lucifer is trapped in another universe (therefore, not a problem for him) and he doesn't need a protector anymore.

I don't remember WHO turned me into a Dagon Kelly fan, but now when I watch it, it's all I can think about

okay hear me out: dagon (the demon) / miriam (the angel)

they both have the same mission in canon, right? they're both under orders to get to jack and take them to their respective leaders.

anyways, pretend that both of them survived their attempts to babysnatch jack already. instead of asmodeous the kfc demon and the other nameless angels, they're the main antagonists of s13 and spend all of it hunting down jack.

they of course cross paths on their missions and decide to work together to speed things up (both planning to betray the other when the time comes.) except...oh no! they get along too well (they do have the same bitchy humor) and bond over their insane stories about heaven and hell. dagon realizes not all angels are boring, miriam revels in finding someone who can keep up with her snark.

anyways, long story short they fall in love and realize jack shouldn't belong to lucifer or heaven, so they both walk away from their missions and instead they become jack's weird aunts. basically, good omens but with evil lesbians. and SCENE.
