I have only watched star trek wrath of kahn many years ago here's what i think happens in the rest of star trek from random things i have seen

spock is dead, but also alive???(cause i dont think he could be dead and be so popular with people)

the crew is space diplomats for... idk the magic awesome space committee

the people who speak klingon are evil? and also have weird heads

New Star Trek/Spirk headcannon:

Replicator shirts rip and tear more easily than actual shirts, uniform shirts are supposed to be actual shirts but replicated ones will do in a pinch. All of Kirk’s shirts are replicated, the crew knows and think it’s just his slut self (or him trying to woo Spock) because even if he somehow lost all of his actual shirts surely he’d just get more? Sure, Star fleet captain shirts are hard to get in space but it’s not impossible and he is James Kirk so.

The real reason all of Kirk’s actual shirts are gone is because he made the mistake of explaining what a prank is to Spock. The prank wasn’t supposed to last this long, it was just supposed to demonstrate that Spock understood Kirk’s explanation (and maybe a minor acknowledgement of their friendship, Kirk did say pranks were done amongst friends, he may be Vulcan but it’s Jim so). Spock saw Kirk’s shirt rip once and suddenly it is very logical to keep all of his actual shirts hidden for as long as possible. You thought getting an actual star fleet captain’s shirt in space was hard before? It is now 100 times harder when your Vulcan first officer is actively working against you.

Kirk still doesn’t know where all of his shirts went, and is quite miffed that all of his plans to get more keep falling through. It’s Not Professional and technically against regulation after all, thank god none of his crew has complained about it yet…
