Happy Easter 🐰🐣
Happy Easter to all my mutuals who celebrate it. I hope you had a busy Easter bunny and did a great Easter hunt. Let me know which traditions you took part in.
I went to see our local Easter fire where they burnt old Christmas trees. It was spectacular!
It's a custom in Northern Germany that big bonfires (Osterfeuer) are lit around sunset on Holy Saturday (some towns also light them on Sunday) as part of liturgical and cultural celebrations. Easter fires date back to the 8th century and developed from a secular tradition, presumably of Germanic or pagan origin.
In Germany (and I think the Netherlands), lighting a small fire has also become part of the Easter Vigil liturgy. After the congregation has gathered around the Easter fire, the priest lights the Easter candle from the fire, which, after its blessing, is carried into the darkened church as a light. The burning candle symbolises Christ as the light of the world. Just as the Israelites once followed the pillar of fire through the desert, so the faithful follow Jesus Christ on the path from death to life.
Are you familiar with a similar Easter tradition?

For a decade, Dean had been living his dream life in Montana as a national park ranger. When Sam and Eileen followed him there a few years later, he had no idea how to tell them about his side gig as the author of a wildly popular series of novels loosely based on his own experiences. Well, minus the monster hunting. He never expected them to become bestsellers—or potentially a tv series, if his agent could only convince him to out his real identity. While Dean's also writing his latest bestseller on a deadline, a misunderstanding and his own social ineptitude leave him completely cut off, aside from his new pen pal who Dean only knows as Bluebird. Cas had spent the last two years desperate to hold Dean’s attention. Right when he felt they might be getting somewhere, Dean was called away on an emergency. Of course he had to go and lament about his troubles to a random tree, thanks to a distracting plaque inviting the public to participate in a new town project. To his surprise, he seems to hit it off— completely anonymously of course— with Western Red Cedar #2409. Through a ridiculous series of coincidences, it could be the best thing that ever happened to either of them.
The fluffy pining in this one is enough to form its own forest. Park ranger and secret writer Dean and socially inept librarian Cas really shine in this two person love triangle.
They are both so earnest in person and in writing and it's clear early and often that they will be so good together if they just get out of their own way. It was miscommunication with a touch of longing in person combined with a sweet vulnerability when they corresponded that had me wanting to lock them in a room until they figured it out.
This is the perfect comfort fic for when you need some soft pining with a soft landing.

🔥🌜 Celebrating Walpurgis Night 🌛🔥
Hello darlings 🥰
As the long, dark winter months come to an end, we welcome the coming of spring and the promise of renewal. One of the most magical nights of the year is Walpurgis Night, a celebration that occurs on the night of April 30th.
Walpurgis Night, also known as Hexennacht or May Eve, is a pagan festival that dates back to ancient times. It was originally a night to celebrate the end of winter and the beginning of the planting season. Today, it is a time to embrace the return of light and warmth, and to honor the spirits of nature 🌷✨
To celebrate Walpurgis Night, you can light bonfires, dance around Maypoles, and create beautiful floral wreaths to wear in your hair. It's a night to let go of the old and welcome the new, and to connect with the earth and its cycles.
Some popular ways to celebrate Walpurgis Night include:
🔥 Lighting bonfires or candles to honor the return of the sun.
🌸 Creating floral wreaths and garlands to wear or hang in your home.
🕯️ Holding a ritual to honor the spirits of nature and ask for their blessings.
💃 Dancing around a Maypole to celebrate the fertility of the earth.
🌿 Planting seeds or starting a garden to welcome the spring.
Remember, the energy of Walpurgis Night is all about renewal, growth, and new beginnings. Embrace the energy of the season and allow yourself to let go of the old and welcome the new.
If you're celebrating Walpurgis Night this year, be sure to share with the Sappy Witch Coven by submitting your post to connect with other witches and pagans around the world 🥰

Blessed be. 🕊️✨
Held my spring celebration, or Vårblót, the other day. It was the first time in a while I've had the energy to really put towards the gods. I spent the day hiking through the woods, spring cleaning the garage, baking cookies, and ended with the first bonfire of the year. I used this day to celebrate the Vanir and the landvættir. The landvættir had a strong presence today, and seemed to enjoy the festivities. I'm hoping to start feeling rejuvenated again so I can put more energy back into my craft
