So why did the battle against the mindflayer flop so hard.

Compare it to the mall battle in season 3. In there, there was tension, strategy, the struggle of reaching safe ground and the danger of it all.

Then you get to the much larger, supposed final boss form of the mind flayer and...and what?

They ran up a cliff, but had no trouble reaching the top? They threw bombs and shot fire at it with ease? Nobody got injured, it was rushed, there was 0 tension, and all El had to do was rip into it to get inside, with no resistance?

Kali, Will, and El should have all been together for this fight, using their powers simultaneously, actually doing well. It should have been a much longer fight.

Also, Will should have been the one to get the final blow on his abuser. Joyce is a good mother but Will deserved to take back his power. This is Will and Els show, yet they both got fucked so badly in the finale.

What even was the point of Will being given powers when he barely got to do anything at all?

What even was the point of bringing back Kali?

Where was any of the fun of the battle?

Why was such an important, finalizing battle so dull and easy?

I had this cute ass dream where Stranger Things took place in modern times (2017) and El and Mike were separated, but El doesn't die and is El moved on a farm to be safe and Mike stays in Hawkins. El didn't have a phone so you know how they communicated? El used the clouds to communicate to Mike. Mike never actually sees them, and thinks El just got a phone to communicate with him. She does this to everyone and I thought it was really cute. El sends pictures made of Ice to Mike's phone and Mike thinks El is just really talented in photo editing/drawing. All text bubbles are made up of clouds and they aren't small and in front of her; they're HUGE. Like, they're up in the sky. If El ever wanted to get privacy she would have to go far off and text using smaller clouds so that no one else could see them. Of course it's just cute notes like "I love you" "I miss you everyday" "You're the light of my life" "Come home someday" "Lucas told me the funniest thing in Algebra today..." "Dustin almost got caught eating Pringles again 😂" "Will just bought a new set of Dungeons and Dragons and were all really excited!!!" And one day she comes home for Mikes Birthday to find Mike really happy and excited. He ends up asking where her phone is so he can put everyone's number in it and ends up somehow harvesting the fUCKING SUN to show Mike this beautiful ass sunset of purple and pink and yellow and orange and red and it says "Happy birthday" with a small picture of Mike and El kissing.
