You know what, I’m going to make a whole new post to re-circulate this now. I didn’t even remember until recently.

I was tipped off last year in late July - early August that there were large groups filming in locations like destroyed!Downtown Hawkins (one of the examples) which didn’t include Will – even though he was supposed to be with some of the named characters. Allegedly for Episode 5.

There was also a rumour that Jamie and Noah were filming scenes together at this same time (not in a group, them two specifically, but there could be more people I suppose).

None of this is 100% confirmed yet still, but given I had no clue that Vecna would be emerging for the Episode 4 cliffhanger, Shawn Levy never posting Will for his Episode 6 shoot, and Will being missing in even more shoots after this, this approximate timeline seems very likely.

looks as though will byers' story might be officially finished filming, and noah wrapped today (or he slipped on an early draft post :') we'll see). wasn't expecting the reality to hit and I know it'll hit even harder when he posts properly 🥺💛

What we learned from the Geeked Week ST5 video:

– Every detail matters, especially the costumes, as they reflect the characters’ personalities & interests.

– Colors play an important role too!

– They created playlists for their characters (*cough-cough* Finn’s STurn playlist 😉).

Eleven was the one to warn Joyce with the lights, not Will.

(spoilers for st5 and the first shadow)

In s1 ep 3, Holy joly, we see Joyce communicating with will through the lights. She, understandably so, thinks its will who talks directly to Joyce through the lights.

And so do you and most of the fandom/ga.

But here, i dont think thats the case.

In season 5 we see Will's powers dealing more with his connection with vecna and the mindflayer than the connection he has with henry himself.

Els powers exist solely because Brenner inected Henrys blood to all of the test subjects and thus, making them his siblings one by one. Will was never there to get injected, and therefore he doesnt have the abilities to manipulate lights, search into the void and go directly into peoples memories like el does. He MIGHT have those abilities if the mindflayer allows him to do so.

In a tiktok, noah said that Will is taking or absorbing the powers from vecna himself.

So, with that thinking, Wills powers as I said are to control the demo creatures and possibly see where the mindflayer isnt allowing him to. Thats also explained through the demo vision

Im a firm believer the lights are Els job in season one.

I believe that El was the one to spy on Joyce most of the season through the void, because she searched for Will and knew how to get to the byers house with her mind. She also spied on will, in the ud, and as she was seeing him being in danger, she tapped onto the lights on the wall, since shes an observer in the moment. Thats how she let joyce know Will was in danger.

Also its pretty simple to understand this since the words are pretty simple on the light wall, such as "right here" and "run", which is something in Els plethora of words. I feel like Will would talk to his mother differently.

Also, Els and Joyces dynamic later in the season kinda shows that El has met will before, and i believe that was it.

And something final; El was exhausted in s1 ep 5, and i think its not only bc she used her powers to accomodate their compasses, but also bc she spied on will to protect him and update joyce.
