masterlist ¦ #21 ❝ hello, sorry for disturbing you but can you please lower the volume ❞
[01:57AM] everything seems perfect this night you see — late morning perhaps. you finished everything that was tasked for you to do, all you gotta do is get the reward tomorrow — later rather. you plopped yourself on you bed and sighed in relived, closing your eyes and drifted to sleep.
midnights like this always relax you; quiet, calm, peaceful and some loud music coming from the other side of your room? hell no.
your eyes shoot wide open hearing some sicko dance beat, it’s loud bass made your bed vibrate. “you can’t be fucking serious,” you cursed under your breath and stood up, marching your clad feet outside of your apartment room.
when you were outside, you searched for the source of the sounds. it couldn’t be dowoon, you heard he was out of town; mrs. park wouldn’t be that of an obnoxious to blast up modern music; and the other room from there was still vacant, or so you thought. you eyes narrowed on that specific door as you approached it slowly, ears leaning on the door and alas, the beats were coming from inside the wooden thing.
right, someone just transferred in that apartment room just few days ago. you didn’t really remember his name but heck, he is handsome.
you heaved a heavy sigh, knocking on the door as loud as possible so that the person living in it will be able to hear it despite of the loud music, and thankfully he did — hearing the music has stopped.
a boy opened the door, sweat evident on his forehead and probably all of his body and heavy pants are coming out from his mouth as he try to catch his breath. he raised his eyebrows, asking you what’s your intention — it was unusual to knock on your neighbor’s door in the middle of the night (yeah, but blasting up music when at a time where people should’ve been sleeping already is more).
“hello, sorry for disturbing you but can you please lower the volume,” you politely asked him, trying yourself to not be drawn over his wet look — in which he managed to be attractive.
“hmm, you’re y/n right?” he asked, tilting his head to the side a bit as he opened the door wider and leaned on the door-frame. you only nodded at this, he hummed and nodded back.
“sorry for that, i guess i kind of lost track of time,” he apologized, scratching his neck and chuckled.
“it’s okay, haha, urhm … ”
“minho,” he continued, taking the cue that you might’ve already forgot his name — or that he haven’t introduced himself to you yet. “i’m minho,”
you nodded and giggled nervously, “okay, nice to meet you minho and thanks, so i’ll be going no—”
“wait! i mean, uh, can i show you something before you leave?” you noticed his cheeks dusted a light pink, but shrugged it off — there’s no way he could be blushing because of you.
you still barely know him though, and he barely knows you too — but he already wants to show you something, and you wanted to know what is it. ‘whatever, yolo,’ you thought.
his mouth flashed a wide grin when you accepted his offer and dragged you inside his room. the inside is nice, you thought. it was comfy, cozy and warm — but his clothes and snacks are all over the place. your nose scrunched at this, you loathed mess. he chuckled at your expression, “sorry for the mess by the way,” you shook your head at this.
“what are you showing me?” you asked as the both of you approached a room, which looks like a practice room and is basically a practice room with mirrors as walls on every side.
“my dance, choreo, ya'know that?” he told you, sending you a wink which made you fluster. “i just wanted to know if it’s good enough,”
“you dance?” you asked obviously, ‘of course, y/n, he dance, you idiot,’ you thought. he laughed at you warmly and nodded in response.
“yeah, and i’ll be performing this tomorrow— uh later, sorry for the bother though,” he said as he went to turn on the speaker, but this time he made sure to lower the volume to avoid any more disturbances.
you waved your hands at him and shook your head, “naw, it’s fine, i already finished my stuffs so no biggie,” you reassured him.
he hummed, then the music started. it was the same beat that you heard last time. he then looked at you last time, smiling, before his mood shifted to a more serious one then started to dance. ‘holy sh—’ you exclaimed in your mind, never in your living years have you seen someone dance like this powerful.
you were so immersed in his dancing that you didn’t notice him coming over you and pulling you over him, inviting you to dance with him. you refused, saying that you don’t know how but he didn’t took it and just swayed you around the room. the music was upbeat, but he was dancing with you — arms around your waist, and your hands were on the back of his head.
you kept on doing this until the both of you got tired. you dropped on the floor, sweat all over your body as you panted heavily. despite all of this, you laughed and stared at watch other. the laughter died down after a few seconds yet you still kept staring at each other — moments like this always relax you; quiet, calm, peaceful and him saying “we should do this often,” followed by your nodding.
midnights like this always relax you; quiet, calm, peaceful. you wrapped around his arms as you both sleep on his bed. you still barely know minho though, and he barely knows you too — but you already felt comfortable around each other’s presence, and that’s what matters.
“ unexpected things always come to your life; just live your life fully and always be prepared for whatever plot twist you’ll have coming your way, ” — you know, lee know, minho.
