So my stand partner in collegium is Dr. K’s wife, Mona, and she’s playing the baroque guitar (WHAT??) And she is hilarious. We met the first rehearsal and complimented each other’s instruments and then when we got the music she started muttering under her breath,
“Wtf?? Is this in E flat?? What the hell? Why would they do that to us?? We’re guitarists we don’t play flats! Shit! This is all going to hell!” Then Mona, this dear woman, who is in her mid-late 50s, peered over her thick, horn rimmed glasses at me and said,
“I’m sorry, I don’t normally swear so much. It’s just that the baroque guitar really brings out the rock star in me.”
