Hello! This is my intro post to my new studyblr for music, aka musicblr. Hope it’s somewhat worth your time.

Basics - Name: Khue (pronounced kway) - Age: 18 - Female - Birthday: July 28, 1999 - Vietnamese - Currently living in Nevada (since I was 2) - Violinist - and dancer but I focus on violin - Music major - Freshman in college

It has come into my brain, that new stand partners say something to each other that has a completely different meaning in the 'real world'...

Stand partner 1: Top or bottom?

Stand partner 2: Bottom.

Stand partner 1: Okay, cool! I'm normally top, so that works out.

Stand partners

Honestly I sometimes feel bad for non-intrumentalists because they don't understand having a stand partner. I think the relationship between stand partners is honestly so underrated. Like my current stand partner drives me up a wall but if anyone else were to criticize her I would fucking destroy them. And some of my best friends are people I had been stand partners with. Even if you barely know each other when you first get put together, you become really close by the time the band/orchestra gets rearranged.

thanks so much for your tips! also, I'm auditioning for an orchestra after Easter and I think I'll get in, but my school only has one viola and thats me so I'm not used to having stand partners or sharing and I'm not used to not being at the front of the orchestra either, any advice?

Hey, no problem. I'm glad you find them useful!

Um. Role of stand partners: Inside turns the pages, divisi bottom part. Outside writes in the music, divisi top part. 

Being at the back of the section sucks in every way possible. You feel degraded, unimportant, and to top it all off, you can't hear the conductor because they never talk loud enough. But trust me when I say that you are very very important at the back section and you cover for us at the front when we muck up.

Just be friendly towards your stand partner. They're probably a really cool person and also nervous, like you. Hopefully they're not a jerk. Like mine.
