never read his book at all ever but as long as someone thinks she’s compassionate i am beyond content. like, she was more of a mom to renee than renee was to her; she took CARE OF HER… and eventually when she got comfortable she started taking care of charlie too!! cooking his meals, making sure he was okay—like she cares so much and i need it to be so Evident in the rewrite. subtle but just There. she was always so careful and tried so much and i need my multi-faceted female characters i NEED them i need characters with faults and fixtures and issues because as much as people say she’s boring she has so much shit going on that it’s honestly fascinating how it manifests in her personality and this is coming from someone who is indifferent to her character in terms of which one i like best.
