That’s a wrap on @invisobang 2025! I had a blast working with my author @q-gorgeous and my partner artist @tired-all-the-time22 did an AMAZING job on his.
The fic is One Phantom Two Phantom its so good I can’t wait for yall to read it 🙂↕️🙂↕️
One thing that strikes me about the popular kids in Danny Phantom is that all the adults (from their parents to their teachers) and even their classmates seem to justify their actions and let them get away with it. In fact, EVERYONE in Amity Park lets them get away with it, mainly because Dash and Kwan are the stars of the high school football team (the ONLY high school in Amity Park) and Paulina and Star are the head cheerleaders, plus the fourd of them seem to be the richest people in town and Paulina's father is the police chief.
Now, let's get down to business:
Did you ever stop to think about the REALITY SHOCKING those four would experience when they left Amity Park for college and suddenly people stopped making excuses for them or treating them with special treatment? Or worse, when they inevitably encountered people who surpassed them in everything they were considered good at?
The four could find themselves surrounded by classmates who were more talented, more attractive, wealthier, and, above all, kinder than them. Suddenly, the celebrities lost the pedestal they'd been on their whole lives, and the others began to exclude them because of their problematic behavior. Dash and Kwan become social outcasts when they beat up a nerdy boy who refused to do their homework (this nerdy boy turned out to be the younger brother of the popular junior). Paulina and Star are ostracized by the other cheerleaders when they try to humiliate a goth girl sitting in the stands (this goth girl turned out to be the girlfriend of the head cheerleader, and the other girls adored her because she always brought them flavored water and lactose-free muffins because one of them was intolerant).
The worst part for them comes when they see on social media how the rest of their classmates are doing, and it turns out that the losers (Danny, Tucker, and Sam) are doing surprisingly well. Tucker got a scholarship to a university specializing in security and software programming, and within weeks he was at the top of his class and known as the "funny one." Sam got into a law school with a program on environmental protection and animal rights. And then there was Danny, who had gotten into a space program that also taught aerospace mechanics, and he was doing surprisingly well. It turns out people liked a friendly person with a good sense of humor; it didn't help that he seemed to be going through a growth spurt. Those three were doing incredibly well...
And then there were the four of them, who seemed to have lost all trace of popularity and had been to detention more times than they could count. Their teachers no longer looked at them with pride or admiration, but with shame and disappointment. Their classmates no longer vied for a place in their group, but seemed intent on doing everything possible to stay away from them. It was a done deal; the high school stars had faded the moment they arrived at college.

Bait and Switch, a Danny Phantom fanfiction written for Invisobang 2025
Summary: Danny finds the note on his bed around the same time as Valerie realizes Star is missing. Getting kidnapped by a random ghost wasn’t on Star’s bucket list, but even once it’s clear she’s bait to draw in the Red Huntress and Phantom, something still doesn’t add up. After all, she’s no more important to them than the next person—right?
Rating: K+/Teen
Warnings: kidnapping, threats of violence/harm (more so than actual violence), manipulation
Relationships: Valerie Gray & Star, Danny Fenton & Valerie Gray
Characters: Star, Valerie Gray, Danny Fenton, Original Ghost Character
Additional Tags: Identity Reveal, Trapped in the Ghost Zone, Ambiguous/Open Ending, Reluctant Truce, Ecto-Contaminated Valerie Gray, Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence

Teaser below the cut!
The beastly ghost had not given Star its name. To be fair, she hadn’t asked for it, but that wasn’t exactly a priority right now.
Star tipped her head back as much as she could, trying to see past the purplish red foliage and into the green of what passed for sky here in the Ghost Zone. As before, there were only a few patches in the canopy; there was no wind here to stir the branches, or at least there wasn’t at the moment, and the ghost boy hadn’t conveniently shown up to rescue her.
Okay, fine, maybe asking wouldn’t get her incinerated on the spot.
Star looked back to the troll of a ghost, who was currently sitting on the stump of the tree it had recently felled with alarmingly few swipes of its onyx claws and was whittling what looked like elongated vampire stakes out of the branches.
There were at least ten at its feet already.
“Hey,” she called, hoping the interruption wouldn’t end with her having a stake in her own heart. “Why am I here?”
She wasn’t even sure at this point if it spoke English. It might not be able to understand her. It had probably grabbed her by mistake. Yeah, that had to be it. It had been looking for someone else, had found her, thought it had had the right person, and it didn’t. She just needed to figure out how to communicate that, and maybe it would take her back. She’d pretty much settle for anywhere in the state right now; it didn’t have to be Amity Park.
This would be a lot easier if she could use her hands.
Or if she actually knew any amount of sign language. Any sign language.
Even that nerd language Foley pulled out at random moments might have helped her, had she known any of it.
Deep red eyes met hers, vivid as iron-rich blood, and a shudder ran through her at the obvious intelligence within them.
The ghost’s lip curled, revealing more teeth than the two lower fangs she’d seen previously. “Bait.”
The ghost’s voice was deep. Gruff, a bit gravelly, not exactly guttural. It didn’t even sound like it—he, maybe? They? She? Star didn’t know and wasn’t keen on asking ever, let alone right now; the ghost might not even have a concept of gender she understood—it didn’t even sound like they had an accent, not to her ears.
…which was deeply unfortunate, as that made it far less likely that she’d misheard them. “What?”
Thank you @cola-grey for the lineart Star is so cute here!!! Colored for @green-with-envy-phandom-event

Behind the scenes/creative thoughts below the cut
Alright so I had the idea of doing the white of the uniform using these kinda glossy color cards, I have, I'm not quite sure it turned out how I wanted it to but I'm committed and that's how crafts go sometimes, but that means I do have this in progress photo of her without the white parts of the uniform. I also think the red circle on the uniform isn't as centered as I wanted it to be (had to cut out the full white bit then glue the red circle onto the white glossy card) but once again, that's how arts and crafts go sometimes, still happy with her <3
As well as, while I've had the "Oh dear god do not accidentally cut the legs/ head off" thought a couple times in this event, this is the first time I've cut something I didn't intend, and it was right in the middle of her hair, I put another colored part behind her and then taped it up so you can't see, but I did want to share the risks of these little cut out standees I'm making.
