What we can learn from Stargate SG-1

Treat People Equal: Although there are a lot more male characters in Stargate women never got sexualized. e.g. Sam did the same work as the "boys" and got treated the same as them.

History: If you listen to Daniel you can actually learn something about (mostly) egyptian history or languages.

Science: Sam's tecnobabble could not be missing in Stargate. Even laymen can catch this or that in her simple scientific explanations she gives to Jack.

Respect Others/New People: The teams always tried to make new friends and find allies, they tried to respect new peoples, different customs and other opinions even if they weren't right in the eyes of the Tau'ri.

Help if you can: The teams always tried to help the people they met if they needed help but without changing their natural development. They tried to open others eyes when they were closed or still fixed on old, obsolete practice.

Intelligent doesn't necessarily mean to be good in maths: Take Sam and put Jack next to her, he is as intelligent as she is but in a different way.

Rules: It's okay to break them if it is for the right reason.

Trust: It's important to have people you can trust and you can count on. Together you can save the world (eight times!)

Stand up for your principles: Even if it means you might have to face court martial.

Don't give up: Sometimes it takes years to achieve a goal and even if you reached it it might not be the way you imagined it. Sometimes you are alone and no one believes in what you believe but if you keep fighting for it people will join you (thinking of Teal'c's fight to free the Jaffa.)

Last but not least: We don't leave anybody behind!
